MLB legend Pete Rose has died at the age of 83, TMZ Sports has learned.
Rose, Major League Baseball's hit king, passed away earlier today at his home in Las Vegas.
Pete's agent, Ryan Fiterman of Fiterman Sports, confirmed the news, saying, "the family is asking for privacy at this time."
Pete was one of the greatest baseball players to ever grace a diamond, earning 17 All-Star Game nods, winning three World Series and the 1973 N.L. MVP.

James Earl Jones is walking him through the cornfield to Heaven (no, not Iowa)
By the end he was really a pathetic sight, too. He played first base just to stay on the field and break Ty Cobb's record, even though he absolutely did not belong at that position.
One of the beat A-holes to ever play the game...Can't deny that.
It had nothing to do with the sports writers. The Hall of Fame itself has an eligibility rule that prevented Rose from being inducted.
Played the game the way it was meant to be played. MLB & HOF are hypocrites for keeping him out all these years, especially now that they embrace gambling. There was never any evidence that Pete bet against his team. RIP Pete try the “hit king.”
To get the most hits it helps to have gotten the most games played and the most at bats. They didn’t call him Charlie hustle for nothing as he legged alot of infield hits out.
"I stand at home plate and admire a home run, and they call me a 'hot dog.' Pete Rose slides head-first into second base when the play is at third, and he's 'Charlie Hustle.'"
“Yes because he wouldn’t have been good enough to qualify.”
There are many players in the HoF with fewer than 2700 hits.
If Rule 22 contained an exception for players with more than 2700 then, Pete would have been eligible for the HoF.
He was sometimes a dick, but he was also a witty guy sometimes. His best crack was when the president (don’t remember which one) was trying to call him and the call wasn’t going through, Pete said something like “I hope the Russian missiles aren’t on the way”.
Add sports to the list of things that are phony nowadays.
I think the evidence proved none of his betting affected the outcome of any game.
I went to every home game when the Big Red Machine was in action!!
It makes four. Maggie Smith, Kris Kristofferson, Pete Rose and Dikembe Mutombo.
Really, people...

Pete was the best ambassador that baseball had. All of Pete’s interviews are great.

Okay to induct the bastard in the HOF now.
Love it that he told Pres Reagan … after their live phone call cut off … We were gonna give you 5 minutes (to call back!!) … 😂😂😂
I would have no confidence that anything he said about his gambling activities was true.
Fosse never missed a game after that hit and went on to win a golden glove for catchers that year and in 1971.
He played first for the Phillies and won the World Series. Pete could play anywhere on the field and his bat never failed.
