North Carolina Democratic Attorney General Josh Stein declined to debate Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson as the Republican faces scrutiny over salacious comments he allegedly posted online.
Stein and Robinson are engaged in a battle to become North Carolina’s next governor this fall. Although Robinson has repeatedly requested to face off against his Democratic rival, Stein publicly refused on Thursday.
“Mark Robinson has spent his entire public life spewing hate, lying about his record, and spreading dangerous and false conspiracy theories,” Stein campaign spokeswoman Kate Frauenfelder told the Hill. “A debate would only serve to legitimize him and provide a platform for his vile and dangerous rhetoric, and we won’t be part of that.”
Stein’s firm rebuttal to his GOP challenger comes after Robinson was linked to a username on an online pornography forum, according to a CNN report released Thursday.
The Republican candidate for governor reportedly discussed viewing transgender pornography and made numerous graphic sexual comments, as well as racist comments.
Robinson has denied the allegations and said he would remain in the race. “Everything Josh Stein [and] the Democrats say about Mark Robinson is either an outright lie or twisted so far out of context it might as well be,” his campaign told the Washington Examiner.

PCs can be taken over remotely I believe.
Robinson might have let someone use his computer or cell phone.
Robinson needs to grow a pair and fight for his campaign! He is hurting Trump. If it’s true he should make the bowing out to spend more time with my family speech but if it’s not true we can all understand a smear and we expect October surprises.
“Robinson denies making the comments, which were made between 2008 and 2012”
“Robinson listed his full name on his profile for Nude Africa, a pornographic website that includes a message board, as well as an email address he used on numerous websites across the internet for decades.
“Many gratuitously sexual and lewd in nature, the comments were made under the username minisoldr, a moniker Robinson used frequently online. CNN was able to identify the username as Robinson by matching a litany of biographical details and a shared email address between the two.
“Robinson commented on issues of race, gender and abortion in posts. In some, he referred to himself as a “black NAZI!” and expressed support for reinstating slavery. In others, he discussed his affinity for transgender pornography”
“North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson used the same alias and email he used on Nude Africa across several social media platforms [Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Discus, Black Planet] — though many of these accounts haven’t been active in years.”
He should have admitted to it in the first 24 hours.
And then use the high tech lynching speech that Clarence Thomas did in '91 during the Supreme Court hearings.
Or more recently with Brett Kavanaugh.
Shouldn't have denied it. If he did it, then yes. Admit it. Then explain that he's a changed man. And then use the race card against the Democrats.

So what was the deal with NC GOP?
Dan Forest may not have wanted to run. Maybe he’ll be talked into it now. I know Robinson won big. He snowed everyone.
I finally looked into the Robinson allegations.
I came to this conclusion.
A lot of people put in a lot of ‘work’ to slander this guy for doing things that aren’t illegal.
**Can you imagine a more powerful advantage? He could destroy him. He’s probably taking the high ground or something.**
Disagree. Something about not getting in the way when your enemy is destroying himself.
WHEN is some rich GOP guy going to start their own news agency and do in depth research on the background of Democrats??? Biden allegedly raped Tara King. Bill Clinton is a sexual predator. Harris worked her way up on oral sex. Etc,, etc.
