Boeing said Friday the head of the company’s troubled defense, space and security unit is leaving the planemaker effective immediately.
New Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg in his first significant move since taking over in August, said Ted Colbert would be leaving and Steve Parker, the unit’s chief operating officer, would assume Colbert’s responsibilities until a replacement is named at a later date.
Boeing’s space business has suffered setbacks, notably NASA’s recent decision to send Boeing’s Starliner capsule home without astronauts that followed years of missteps.

Wonder what that Golden Parachute looks like.
I’ve said this before: When I worked at Raytheon we had a contract with Boeing. I thought they were the best managed company I had ever dealt with. (Raytheon was well managed in those days.) The great thing about Boeing was they knew how to deliver profits and great products. (So did Raytheon, once.)
Boeing should have gotten rid of all DEI personnel.
It should be in their annual report. Typically they have to pay a guy at that level something like ten-million for early termination.
He looks like a DEI hire
They’ll just replace her with another one who checks all the boxes.
He looks like a DEI hire
Poor astronauts. I hope the weightless sex has been good. Research, just research!
I hear Bud Light is hiring...
Anytime the CEO uses a term like “key differentiator”, you know that company has been managed by MBA “template” bean counters. Fill out the appropriate boxes, follow all NGO dictums and the money rolls in. Yeah. Right.
Boeing is so inept they need to go bankrupt. I hope the two astronauts stranded up there sue for 1 billion each. One more scandal and Boeing is toast.
Go woke and go broke. Something no Boeing managers ever seemed to learn. I saw it first hand years ago when my company was teamed with Boeing on two programs and I had an office at Boeing in El Segundo, CA. And then 10 years later my company went woke too.
I personally happen to know both of these men.
Colbert: Not DEI - he’s great at what he does (marketing), but terrible as a division CEO. Starliner is a disaster - someone’s gotta pay.
Parker: Solid as a rock. He’s an Aussie, knows the business inside and out. Like the F-15EX (it’s awesome, BTW)? Thank Steve Parker.
Usually, IT people don't have "field" experience, so how did he end up heading the entire space division? Shouldn't actual aerospace engineers have been chosen to head the space division rather than an IT guy with arms-length experience with actual rocket science?

When the globalists force the korporation follow woke ideology, maybe the only option is to fail spectacularly at it so they never ask you to build another space capsule.
I say double down.
The next Defense & Space CEO should be Trans-Female.
Is Kelly a BOY or a GIRL?? OR BOTH??? WHAT A FAILURE DEI HIRE!
“Yeah, buddy leave ‘ em up there, no skin off my nose...NOT my problem...Im just hete to collect wat dat white man owe me- my full benefits and quick retirement invluding my xtra special Golden Parachute.
Colbert was “Black Engineer of the Year”, so you know he is outstanding !
