On Tuesday, more than 1,000 people, including Hezbollah fighters and medics, were injured across Lebanon after a series of explosions involving communication pagers used by Hezbollah, according to security sources.
The explosions, which occurred in various parts of the country, have been described as one of the largest security breaches Hezbollah has faced in the ongoing conflict with Israel. The detonations took place as Hezbollah and Israel have been engaged in cross-border warfare since the Gaza conflict erupted in October. Tensions have been steadily rising between the Iran-backed Hezbollah and Israeli forces, leading to ongoing clashes and casualties on both sides.
Does anyone know if there’s Breaking News from Hezbollah?
"At about 3:30 p.m. local time on Tuesday, pagers started heating up and then exploding in the pockets and hands of those carrying them. (Emphasis mine)

After this and one of their leaders targeted in the middle of Iran, cars carrying their leaders being turned to ash, they have got to be getting paranoid.
Imagine Israel blowing all the cell phone batteries of the leadership in Iran.
Cheap Chinese batteries ,LOL
Guess I need to use search since, according to the mods, still works. ๐๐
The Hezbos need larger batteries.
“It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall at the human resources departments at the pager manufacturer offices today.”
The last time the Mossad did this, and it’s at least twenty years ago, they intercepted a load of pagers. They reprogrammed them so the Mossad had control. Those pagers were being used to detonate bombs. What they did was periodically ping them. If they were attached to a bomb, they detonated the bomb. They got at least one bomb factory and a bunch of bomb techs.
The next time the Mossad dis something like this was when they sent a cell phone, back when they were Motorola bricks as a gift. Then they called it and asked to speak to the target. When he came online, they triggered a bomb.
These terrorist organizations were amazingly sophisticated back in the day. That’s because they went to school under the KGB. The training was apparently first rate. It’s apparent now, though that a lot of organizational learning and contemporary training is lacking.
The purpose of lots of policies and tools is to degrade something over time. Meaning that it isn’t possible to kill it all at once. For example, the sanctions on Russia were not intended to end the Russian economy. Many news outlets expressed disappointment that the economy seems just fine. The intention, like the slow degradation of the terrorist’s institutional knowledge, was to have a cumulative, compounding effect over time. Israel’s playing the long game. My money is on the Mossad.
Does Mossad have the ability to turn lithium batteries into bombs?
Can they do it on EVs?
Other news reports give casualty numbers of more than 2000, with 8 or 9 dead.
This definitely puts a dent in Hezbollah operations for a while. Also the scars left on survivors provide some unique identification in the future.
On a Telegram Channel I monitor, all the pagers were made by a company in Taiwan, the speculation is a small explosive charge was built into the pagers somewhere along the manufacturing process, how that was done is anyone’s guess, I’m sure a bunch of people all around the world are trembling in the shoes over who’s next.
It’s pretty Ingenius regardless of how it was done. Israel managed to severely maim and injure 3000 or more Hezbollah fighters without have to attack them conventionally.

The updated numbers:
4000 wounded of which 400 in critical conditions.
EXPLOSIVE DETAILS: According to Sky News Arabic, Mossad placed 20 grams of PETN explosives into each device. PETN is sensitive to heat and friction, and Israel detonated it by raising the temperature of the battery to explode it.
wonder if the pagers used wireless techโฆ easier to infiltrate the software that way..
Even a mole who was able to overload the batteries would have had difficult making them overheat and expolode all at the same time

I just don’t see how even a more energy dense lithium ion battery could be directed to expend all its energy in one blast. Even in the small chance that happens, the reaction produces high heat and fire, but not the immediate energy of a blast
I would bet $100 they were tampered with to install a small explosive charge, mostly likely disguised in the battery itself.
