CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Rescuers freed an 11-year-old boy who slipped between two boulders near his school and was trapped for more than nine hours, a New Hampshire fire chief said Monday.
The boy was pried out of the boulders in Windsor at about 3:15 a.m. He was taken to a hospital for evaluation and released, according to the Wediko School, where the boy is a student.
“On Sunday evening, while under supervision, a student exploring a rocky area on campus slipped between two boulders when sticks and debris gave way beneath them,” the school, a residential treatment center for boys, said in a statement Monday.
“Despite multiple staff members' efforts to free the student, they were unsuccessful and promptly called local emergency rescue services,” the statement said. “Emergency responders worked tirelessly through the night, successfully rescuing the student in the early morning.”
Firefighters got a call to respond shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday, where they found the boy “lodged between the crevasse” in a large boulder, Hillsborough Fire Chief Kenny Stafford said. They used ropes and a lubricant to rescue the child, he said.

“We basically had to tunnel underneath the boulder to get access to the child’s feet which allowed us something to push on from the bottom,” he said.

I'm glad the boy was rescued and doing fine. He know has a big story to tell.
Dolly Parton unavailable for comment.
Good thing he didn’t end up where all the stuff that falls into the couch goes.
Reminds me of Fat Man Squeeze in Carbondale, Illinois. Closed now because of cultural fragility.
There’s a haunting photo out there of a ruminant skeleton stuck in a shallow crevasse.
It reminds me of my experience with a parachute instructor. But I didn’t fall for any of his jokes.
“...but I DIDN’T FALL for any of the jokes!”
Hardy, hat, har!
Trapped between two boulders???
From the photo, it looks like he was really trapped between a rock and a hard place.

NH ping.
The good thing is, with help right away, they would be able to keep him hydrated and fed and perhaps warm enough. And he had the comfort of knowing that people were working so hard to free him.
That must cut down on the trauma of something like that tremendously.
Sigh. The story has nothing to do with trans. He’s deserved a a young male. Yet DEI has shattered good grammar across the board;
“a student exploring a rocky area on campus slipped between two boulders when sticks and debris gave way beneath THEM” He’s a HIM, you simpleton author
For a variety of reasons no doubt but the one I'd be most concerned about is if it shifted inn the wrong direction. It could crush someone.

Glad the kid is ok. Amazing they had to tunnel under the boulders so they could push up on his feet.
When I was about 10, I got stuck in knee-deep mud at a construction site in my “pack boots.” There was absolutely NO way I could free myself. I was totally stuck and immobilized. I learned what it was like to be stuck in “quicksand” as all the westerns in the 50s and 60s showed.
Fortunately my buddy with me ran to the nearby construction site and got help. A big, burly construction worker pulled me out, but the boot was long gone. I was probably alone for 20 minutes while he went to get help and that was some of the scariest time of my life.
The author used “boy,” “student,” “he,” and “child” many times in the article. Then the author just HAD to insert one “them” in the piece for no reason. How weird is that? The author must be afflicted with Wokeism.
Wonder if he found any loose change down there?
