Scooter Braun has defended Taylor Swift against Donald Trump.
The 43-year-old former music manager famously fell out with Taylor, 34, after he bought the rights to her master recordings and allegedly slapped her with restrictions on performing her hits live before he sold the rights on to the private equity company Shamrock Holdings.
And after the 78-year-old politician declared he despises the Shake It Off hitmaker over the weekend, Scooter stood up for her and commented on X: "Shake it off Donald."
He also encouraged his fellow Americans to vote for Trump's rival Kamala Harris in the November presidential election.
Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social five days after the performer announced in a long Instagram post she would be voting for his Democrat White House race rival Harris, 59.
He raged online on Sunday (Sept 15) in an all-capitalised message: "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!"
Along with announcing online she was supporting Harris as US president; Taylor urged her millions of Swifties to research the election and register to vote.
Trump lashed out at Taylor after saying he had "no idea" what his reaction was to the singer's message supporting Harris after the pair of rivals faced off in a TV debate.
Taylor's Instagram message drove more than 400,000 visitors to the vote.gov site in under a day.
She said: "I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and (her vice president nominee) Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election.
"If you haven't already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most… as a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country."
Taylor also used her note to blast images generated by artificial intelligence that were reportedly shared by Trump on Truth Social and had suggested she was endorsing him for president.
She said: "Recently I was made aware that AI of 'me' falsely endorsing Donald Trump's presidential run was posted to his site.
"It really conjured up my fears around AI and the dangers of spreading misinformation.
"It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter.
"The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth. I've done my research, and I've made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make."
In a dig at Trump's running mate JD Vance, 40, and his infamous jibe at women who didn't have children, the singer signed off her post as: "Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady."
He has to defend her, because he’s the one who gets the financial fallout when people stop playing her music.
The votes of many 14-year-olds have been swayed by Taylor’s endorsement.
Scooter Braun...
Who is that?
Swift has entered her fat Elvis phase
We are dumbing down giving a hoot about this. The dumbest people, Swifties and Lefties. If you don’t know them by now you and are on this forum, you must be new to politics.
Ditto👆🏼
Is there evidence that is happening?
Some Canadian guy?
what is a Scooter Braun? A electric razor you ride??
Then comes the phase where her only remaining fans are old faggots, as with Madonna and Cher.
Could you tell us what they are?
He is just protecting his investment in the singing funt.
Who are they and who cares what they think?
Is there any evidence she lost money because of this endorsement, or when she endorsed Biden in 2020?
There is a long story about Scooter Braun that is far too involved to discuss in this post. Taylor Swift revolutionized the music industry with her big beef with Scooter Braun. He was also involved with Ariana grande and The Biebs.
Braun is the reason why Swift has “taylor’s version” of her songs
WTF is a Scooter Braun?
Not really. He sold his master rights to Shamrock which is Roy Disney. Once Taylor rerecorded her albums “Taylors Version” Shamrock gets nothing from those.
Braun might retain something but nothing like what had
There may be some caveats since $$$ from music is a complicated business.
There is a story that Ed Kelce put forth that he went out and bought Taylor’s music but didn’t realize what a big deal it is to buy Taylor’s Version. So he went out and bought those to support her - supposedly.
