Eight concepts of racism can be extracted from definitions Carson presented in a chapter titled “Was Lincoln a Racist?” Carson says (p. 338) that his definitions “draw on important work in contemporary philosophy.”
Racism-1: Believing that members of a group with certain racial characteristics are morally or intellectually “inferior” to members of groups that lack those racial characteristics.
*It is racist-1 to believe that blacks are morally or intellectually inferior to whites or Asians (for example).
* I’d venture to say a comparatively small number of people hold racism-1 beliefs.
* The left throws racism-1 accusations at Republicans without a shred of evidence.
Racism-2: Believing that discrimination against members of a group with certain racial characteristics is justified.
* Civil rights laws were enacted in large part to combat discrimination against blacks.
* College admission quotas that discriminate against whites are racist-2.
Racism-3: Members of “superior” groups believing that they are justified in exploiting or using members of the “inferior” group for their benefit.
* The slave trade exemplified racism-3 beliefs, which were also quite common in the antebellum (Democrat) South and persisted into the 20th century well after slavery was abolished. See below.
Racism-4: Members of “superior” groups believing that they are justified in hatred or ill will toward members of “inferior” groups.
Racism-5: Believing that indifference to the welfare of members of a group with racial characteristics considered “inferior” is justified.
Racism-6: Believing that inadequate concern for the welfare of members of a group with racial characteristics considered “inferior” is justified.
Racism-7: Believing that disrespect toward members of a group with racial characteristics considered “inferior” is justified.
Racism-8: Believing that inadequate respect toward members of a group with racial characteristics considered “inferior” is justified.

Thinking that everything someone says or does is racist by nature and accusing others of racism on no basis other than their skin color.
Racism is holding anyone not white to the same standard whites are held to?

Ultimately the question of whether someone is ‘racist’ comes down to an opinion. That’s it.
And one persons opinion of whether someone is racist no more valid than any another.
The first guy who brings up race is the racist.

Since Caucasians are only about 8% of the world’s population, aren’t Caucasians the ultimate minority...and being often discriminated against?
Define “race” first.
I remember back in the days, when Rush Limbaugh termed this concept as a Culture War. I think it is more about the war of One ethnic Value is superb to another. And if you were trying to tame the Cannibals.. you could be a racist practicing genocide.
Those are all old-fashioned definitions.
I take it the writer hasn’t haunted the halls of academia for decades. (Or read much from them online?)

Racism: the belief that some races are inferior or superior to other races.
Inferior or Superior in what way?
Is it racist to believe that some races are better at surviving in the desert? Or surviving in the arctic?, or surviving in the jungle?
Is it racist to believe that some races run faster, can jump higher, have a better sense of balance, have perfect pitch, better spatial awareness, can perform more complex calculations?
Do Asians have an extra layer of fat around their eyes to protect from the elements? Are Caucasian lactate persistent (can drink milk as adults)? Do Africans have flaired nostrils for better respiration? Are some races taller, stronger, or more durable than others?
By some measure, all races are better than others. If you can acknowledge this as true you realize everyone is racist.
Believing you are born racist by virtue of your white skin color. White racism as an original sin.
“Racism” is merely the cudgel by which the left acquires and asserts power. It did not exist prior to its invention by marxists, or any time before that.
And the modern Democrat party is racist by several of those criteria.
