Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost on Wednesday did his bit to amplify a conspiracy theory that Haitian immigrants legally present in Springfield, Ohio are stealing and eating pets, ducks and geese.
The conspiracy has been debunked by the Springfield mayor, city manager and chief of police, as well as by Republican Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine. Yost is looking to succeed DeWine as governor in 2026.
“Citizens testified to City Council,” Yost posted on X Wednesday. “These people would be competent witnesses in court. Why does the media find a carefully worded City Hall press release better evidence?”

As I read these stories about Haitians with no money coming to Springfield I kept wondering where they were getting the money to buy cars and then cause traffic accidents.
Has anyone found a source of their money to buy cars?

I agree. Dewine should resign. He probably worked closely with the Harris/Biden administration to bring these people into Ohio.
I actually don’t think there ARE any Springfield elites (I live in the area sort of) but obviously if federal $$ is offered to bribe people to look the other way, a whole lot of regular citizens can’t wait to get on board.
I find that very disappointing but then I’m not a landlord looking a Biden-Harris gift horse in the mouth.
I’d like to think I would draw the line before taking the Biden-Harris money but it’s easy to say maybe not easy to do.
Springfield is NOT an affluent community. Probably why they chose it and others like it.
I never like or trusted the little weasel. Every now and then he does the right thing but not consistently.
It’s slightly humorous that we are not per law allowed to interfere in ANY way with migrating birds which includes the Canadian geese and Mallard ducks, but the Haitians are allowed to kill and eat them.
People with swimming pools must ask the geese politely to poop somewhere else (slight Sarc).
