SAN ANTONIO - Two teenagers were arrested in connection with several shootings recently around Joint Base San Antonio where several suspects fired numerous rounds at Air Force Security personnel at the gate.
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said Joseph Anthony Jimenez, 19, and Ricardo Samaniego, 19, were arrested and charged with deadly conduct with a firearm after a multi-agency investigation that included the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives or ATF.
Two shootings happened on Aug. 17 near JBSA-Lackland gate off Medina Base Road. The first shooting happened just before 3 a.m. and the second shooting took place just before 5 a.m.
No military personnel were injured in either incident.
Investigators said two suspects used a stolen vehicle to shoot at homes near JBSA-Lackland. They discovered that Jimenez was involved in a prior shooting that happened around Marbach Road. Chief McManus said that investigators found shell cases at the location of both of those shootings. He also said that "a vehicle was seen in the area of the base that matched one stolen out of Bexar County in the early morning of Aug 17. That vehicle was later recovered unoccupied in SAPD jurisdiction."
A warrant was obtained for Jimenez on an unrelated charge of a deadly conduct with a firearm.
Chief McManus said video evidence showed Jimenez and Samaniego "acted together to drive the stolen car around and fire multiple rounds into the direction of several houses in the field by JBSA."
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said they were able to connect Jimenez to the shootout at Lackland after a shooting that took place later the same evening.
He said about 10 p.m. at a home off Marbach Oaks they were called out for an accidental shooting. Sheriff Salazar said several suspects were playing with a gun with a switch when it went off, hitting Samaniego, who was holding an infant at the time of the shooting. Deputies believe that Jimenez was the suspect firing the gun negligently that hit Samaniego.
Investigators said the infant wasn't hurt as a result of the shooting.
Sheriff Salazar said "using a system called NIBIN (National Integrated Ballistic Information Network,)" the shell casing from the Marbach Oak shooting was linked to the shooting at JBSA. According to ATF, NIBIN "automates ballistics evaluations and provides actionable investigative leads in a timely manner."
The headline makes it sound like kids having a bit of fun. These were legally adult males.
....”....Jus’ doin’ jobs Amuhricans won’t do.....”
I wonder what the motive was.
Dumb and drunk?
A gang initiation?
If it was the latter, I’m sure we’ll never be given any details.
Paging Mr. ATF, Mr. ATF, white courtesy phone. 10 to 1 the perps are not charged with having an illegal machine gun modification to their Glock.
I wonder what their history is?
(These were legally adult males.)
Yep
Used a vehicle to shoot at homes???
It’s just teens again. Probably illegal aliens.
Oh those zany teens and their crazy jalopies
” playing with a gun with a switch”
These rascals have a Glock switch and were just playing like the crazy kids they are. Of course our illegal invaders would dare violate the law and install giggle switches on their illegally owned Glocks.
Who really considers a 19 YO a teenager?
Not mentioned is their nationality or immigration status.
O-teens, out canvassing votes perhaps.
But….they were only here to work I was told.
“ “Growing up here in Texas, like many in this room, I had the honor and privilege of meeting the newly arrived,” Bush said.”
PS
I was going to post a meme of illegal immigrants, and I kid you not, there was not a single one on a Google search. Instead it said memes about immigration might be offensive and hurtful to some.
Google is protecting ILLEGAL aliens.
Two bullets in their heads would be a huge net profit for society. Even the added cost of burying them would be a massive net gain for all of us.
No mention if they are legal. Just more of fjb's and kamallla's people.
My name Hose Himenez...
Science baby! Thugs got no clue what it can do!
Sheriff Salazar was a featured speaker at the DNC praising Kalamari and how crime is in control under the Biden/Harris administration.
