Attorney: Hunter Biden to Plead Guilty in Tax Case

Hunter Biden plans to change his not guilty plea in his federal tax case, his defense attorney said Thursday just as jury selection was set to begin.

Defense attorney Abbe Lowell announced Hunter Biden's plans to change his previous plea, just months after the president's son was convicted of gun charges in a separate case, but did not provide further details.

The latest case accuses Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, of a four-year scheme to avoid paying at least $1.4 million in taxes while pulling in millions of dollars from foreign business entities. He is already facing potential prison time after a Delaware jury convicted him in June of lying on a 2018 federal form to purchase a gun that he possessed for 11 days.

“Mistakes were made”

Whenever the Clintons get caught with “tax problems” they get to just re-file and pay the properly calculated amount. Ordinary citizens get hit with penalties and interest which make the initial cost seem paltry in comparison to the punitive damage demanded by the IRS.

Pops will pardon the convictions. No harm, no foul to Hunter.

Exactly. The only reason to do this is to get the sentence out of the way so his daddy can pardon him. At this point, he’s probably worried that even Kamala wouldn’t do it if she won. Joe will leave office in as sleazy and corrupt a way as he entered office. A fitting last act.

Pardon has already been drafted. Will be signed on November 6th, 2024.

Just heard on the radio that it isn't a guilty plea but an Alford plea where he still maintains his innocence but accepts the punishment because the evidence is enough to likely convict him.

I smell trickery. Will the renege later if he doesn't like the proposed sentence or just to stall things more?

I think the pardon of Hunter in case Joe is not alive on November 6th was a pinky promise as part of the deal to give Kamala the nomination.

You are so correct. Hunter does not want to risk a jury trial that could last until after Jan 20, 2025.

Why should Brandon have to wait? The media has already pretty much absolved Kamala for any shortcomings in the Biden-Harris administration. He could pardon Hunter today and the reaction would be, “What’s that got to do with her?”

His chance of not getting a pardon from daddy are none. I think the term “foregone conclusion” was invented for this very situation.

Get it off the headlines. No messy trial to distract the press adoration of Commie Kamala, no messy trial to put focus back on Chomo Joe, and enough time to get a full pardon.
What if Trump offers to pardon Hunter as a show of good will and unity?

Yeah, but now he’s owned it. I’m sure he’s learned his lesson, and has earned a pardon. /s

They want it out of the way before Trump’s sentencing date on 9/12/2024.

They don’t want any messy comparisons.

I wonder what kind of fines he avoids through the pardon. Does The Big Guy get 10%?

A pardon is a tricky thing. The thing with a pardon it effectively removes the person’s 5th amendment protection. If pardon, Hunter could be dragged in front of a Grand Jury and because he can not be tried again for the crimes he was pardoned for, he could be forced to testify about who else was involved. If he refuses he could be charged with things like “obstruction of justice”.

Also keep in mind, if he did not pay Federal taxes, did he pay state taxes. A pardon will not protect him from the state.

Will it happen? Don’t know but it is a possibility.

(Not a lawyer, just stating an opinion on how I understand it all works, as always I may be wrong).
