Donald Trump is outlining his economic platform during a speech in New York City on Thursday.
The former president's policies will include billionaire Elon Musk's recommendation to create a government efficiency commission to conduct 'a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government.'
The remarks are meant to more specifically detail Trump's plans for the future of the economy as the issue is often cited by voters as their No. 1 issue this election cycle.
And Trump holds an advantage over Vice President Kamala Harris among voters who think he would better handle the economy and inflation crisis.
Trump's policies are expected to introduce even more aggressive slashing of regulations than he implemented during his first White House term and would likely dramatically rescind unspent funds that President Joe Biden's administration appropriated.
The address comes just five days before Tuesday's debate with Harris in Philadelphia.
'I can't wait. There is a lot of waste and needless regulation in government that needs to go,' Musk tweeted this week amid speculation of his role influencing Trump's economic policies.
Musk suggested that the commission tackle the issue of inflation by addressing government spending.
And the X, Tesla and SpaceX CEO wants this group to 'recommend drastic reform' after an entire government audit.

Murky water is the hallmark of Administrative adjudication. Administrative law judges that can be appointed through a Pre. Admin. verses Executive Directors within the agency that have overriding powers (Thanks to Congress) has not been hashed out by the courts. Constitutionally this favors Congress through the Necessary and Proper Clause (Constitution is far from being even close to perfect people).
Oh, my goodness! I am so looking forward to the next 4 years - the MAGA years!
When Trump threatens the deep state on this level (in a way we patriots have been dreaming of for decades) and then the naysayers come out in droves, it tells us more about the naysayers than anything else.
The Constitution states exactly what the central government is allowed to do and that list is very, very short. Take a hint from the abortion mess; states MAY control but the feds MAY NOT, and that applies to everything from incandescent light bulbs to ethanol subsidies to seat belts.
Let the hacking and slashing begin.

The list they have for all these controlling tax consuming government agencies are truly alarming. Something like 450 or 500 government agencies. I-N-S-A-N-E
Deep State: Must kill Trump. If at first you don’t succeed...
“Donald Trump to announce ‘complete audit of the federal government’ “
It couldn’t happen soon enough.
It was just a matter of days before Security guards escorted her out of the HUD building and told her to never return.
(These days she is one of those online “crazy conspiracy theorists” that folks around here like to mock.)
~~~
If all they do to you is escort you out of a building (as big a smack this is to the authority for which she was appointed) you should probably consider yourself lucky, particularly when it comes to honing in on black budget
The big thing would be to take a chainsaw to government grants to “non-profits “ and “research grants”.
That’s where a lot of the money goes, to fund activism.
I like Catherine Austin Fitts - heard her years ago. She was the first to be sounding the alarm on digital currency. She knows what she’s talking about, for sure.
I started watching this Peter Santello interviewing this Washington lawyer about the massive corruption in DC. Elon needs to chat with this guy.
This government has become such a BEAST this will be a Herculean task BUT if ANYONE can succeed at it Elon and his team can do it!! THEN the bastards need to be spread across the country if they don’t want to go to their NEW state they don’t have a job PERIOD!! This DC SEWER needs to be broken up into pieces AND SCREW the thought of a NEW FBI headquarters NO WAY! They have become an organization of useless keystone cops that are no good at finding ANYTHING but praying grandmas any real crime right under their noses is brushed off!! These bastards have missed EVERY damn major crime in this country!!!
How would it be different? The same cast of characters, and even less interest.
Even if this could be launched, it would take longer than four years, and would have to have some mechanism for surviving a hostile Congress and possible opposing political administration. Executive Order isn’t going to cut it.
Shut down the UN, DNC, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, DEPORT THE ILLEGALS, NO anchor babies by non-citizens, Fox, Education Dept, Energy Dept, FEMA, clean out the swamp of Foggy Bottom, clean out the CIA & all military civilian commie employees, and a few others would save trillions of dollars and millions of lives from evil indoctrination of the leftist leftists. Build back the military without homos in charge. Fire a ton of liberal judges and Federal prosecutors. That is just a good start. Move on from there. Musk should be in the cabinet.
Dems and the entire swamp are deathly afraid of audits as cockroaches are deathly afraid of light.
Sweet.
“No way they can let Trump takes office after he wins the election.”
I was kind of hoping he would keep quiet about his plans until he got in office. But that’s not like him.
