Trump: "Medical Marijuana has been amazing"

Trump smiles at question about Congress doing shrooms, teases forthcoming drug policy on podcast

He didn’t want to trip up.

Former President Donald Trump chuckled slightly at the notion of Congress doing shrooms to improve its performance when asked about his thoughts on psychedelics.

Podcaster Lex Fridman suggested during an interview with Trump that “we would probably have a better world if everybody in Congress took some mushrooms” when pressing for his thoughts on the matter.

“So we put out a statement the other day,” Trump replied, referencing his recent Truth Social post that spoke favorably of a marijuana ballot measure in Florida.

“We’re gonna put another one probably next week to be more specific,” Trump continued. “But it’s coming up, and we’ll see how it does. I will say it’s been very hard to beat it. You take a look at the numbers, it’s been very hard to beat it…But you want to do it in a safe way.”

Trump, 78, steered clear of commenting directly on psychedelics specifically during his exchange with Fridman, who has gone on an ayahuasca retreat and conversed with guests about their spiritual experiences on drugs.

The 45th president had sought to stake out some middle ground on the question of marijuana last week on Truth Social, arguing that it is not necessary to “ruin lives” by arresting adults with weed on them.

......

“Medical marijuana has been amazing. I’ve had friends and I’ve had others and doctors telling me that it’s been absolutely amazing — medical marijuana,” he told Fridman.

“We can live with marijuana … it’s gotta be done in a really concerted way.”

Trump touted Florida’s approach, seemingly alluding to the Amendment 3 ballot measure, as “very good” and stressed that there need to be restrictions, such as age.

Peer reviewed studies and Trump agree, the God-given plant known as Marijuana is not evil (like the pro-vaccine types say it is) but is a natural medicine used for millennia until some Libs started the who "Reefer Madness" crap and begged the Gov. to make it illegal.

GO TRUMP!!!

ps: Michigan just reaped $100 million for K-12 schools from legal pot sales. Look it up.

Legalized marijuana in Canada has likely led to an increase in consumption... And a recent survey indicated that two thirds of Canadians buy their marijuana from illegal sources, because those who sell it illegally dropped their prices dramatically after pot was legalized... The government was already locked into purchasing marijuana at exorbitant prices from pre-approved pot growers.

Government sanctioned pot per gram... $10+ taxes.
Illegal pot per gram... $3 to $5 and no taxes.

Legalized pot hasn’t realized any tax revenue to speak of, and it’s legalization has made other non-legalized drugs more acceptable.

Legalization is not the answer.

Like all things, it’s good and bad.

Not for me, but I really don’t care what others do to make it through the day. They need to do what works for them.

People wanted to prohibit alcohol. It didn’t work.
People wanted to prohibit internet porn. It didn’t work.
With states legalizing cannabis, I don’t think the federal government can continue to prohibit it much longer.

I think it messes people up and it’s not a good thing. But I think people need to face reality that it’s not going away (it’s a weed, you know). As a Conservative, I’d like government to focus on a small number of achievable things and leave people alone for the rest of the stuff.

“…we would probably have a better world if everybody in Congress took some mushrooms…”

.

The majority of folks in congress are already mostly insane - so some magic mushrooms
probably can’t hurt. (That much.)

Right? /Sarc

It kept me off a boatload of prescription medications when I was going through chemo. Will still take a toke of indica when trouble sleeping occurs.

Not what I was thinking when the car full of foreign gentleman cruising through old town with the windows down and smoke rolling out the window pulled up. Boy, they sure thought something was funny. We all got the pleasure of listening to their music, the neighboring town did as well.

Casual backyard dope smokers are not going to like how this plays out.

But those folks stand with the commie-fascists on this issue, that is for sure. Like peas in a pod. Bosom buddies. BFFs.

This has got to be the government’s biggest bate and switch cons

Sure, the proceeds are ear marked for schools but what about all of the other money that was previously going to schools.

The government did the same thing with Lottery revenue.

They give with one hand and take with the other.

The schools end up with no more money.

On the other hand I see no evidence that schools improve with extra spending. The schools simply get more unproductive administrative staff while illiteracy of children rises.

What are we getting for our money? Squat!

There is something different about weed. My only basis for saying this is that I can see how differently it is treated by the cabal currently running this joint.

They don’t care about alcohol so they allow its use with restrictions. For example, people drink, but would never be driving down the road with a bottle of Jack on the dashboard. It is enforced.

With weed it is different for some reason. Weed is allowed to be smoked everywhere, I smell it coming out of cars. Around kids, on the street, anything goes. - not so for cigarettes. It is not enforced.

I think it’s because the cabal wants us all smoking weed. And that can’t be good.

They’ll tell us what they want us to do. My position is we shouldn’t do what they want. They are not trying to help.

I agree with that. I don’t want to go deeply down the rabbit hole of conspiracies, but I think the Big Shots really want a quiescent population. I think that technologically, economically, and demographically the world is at a major inflection point and I think we could achieve real freedom for individuals — but the Big Shot are dreaming of the opposite: a world of slavery and control. Widespread weed use would probably help the Big Shots achieve their dream (but they can sell it to people as: “Hey you wanted real freedom for individuals, right? Well ... here you go ...).

Yes, maybe it has become so widespread as to be unenforceable.

They said smoking tobacco had its benefits back in the day, but the popular opinion on that has changed.

It is truly bizarre to observe the difference in opinion and enforcement between tobacco and weed.

But it doesn’t matter what I think, as a society we are going down this road so we’re going to find out. Hell, maybe I’m wrong and everything gonna be better than it was.

My theory is that the government wants us all stoned and stupid.

Now, that doesn’t mean that marijuana can’t be helpful medically.

Marijuana use is a cultural issue, not a legal one.

I bought into the hype at first, I believed weed would help me get through post cancer surgery but I was wrong. After I turned to Jesus, gave up the weed and the booze my life truly turned around for the best.

I had all the stress, the fears, the empty hopes that a 21st century man can have but when I found our Lord and realized all I had to do each day was wake up and Follow Him, everything else just took care of itself.

I no longer need or want pot or booze, I don’t argue with my wife, I’m living again thanks to Jesus and the truth He brings.

Yeah, I agree. I want that freedom bad.

What it looks like to me is TPTB are offering up this “path to freedom”. They say “it’s easy, here, just suck on this fag here and enjoy the circus. Enjoy your freedumb!”.

Real individual freedom is possible, but it is a much harder path and there is some real work involved to get us there. And there might be weed at the end of it, but we have to take the right path, not the easy one.

But of course society’s taking the easy path. We don’t do delayed gratification anymore I guess.

Like I’m watching a bad horror flick.
