As of 2024, Hispanics represent 39% of California's population. Asians are 14% of the population. Non-Hispanic whites are 37% and include groups like Armenian, Italian, and Iranian Americans who had no ancestors who were slaveholders in the antebellum South. Blacks, at 5% of California's population, are a distant fourth. Liberals may be myopic but the more realistic ones can do arithmetic. As pointed out by other posters, blacks vote over 90% Democratic and have done so since the 1960s.
