With absentee ballots set to be mailed next week, we're getting a look at what these ballots will look like.
Some are raising questions about the order of names on the ballot as North Carolina plays a key role in the race for the White House.
You can now find sample ballots on most county Board of Elections websites, allowing you to review the candidates before you vote. Each ballot has at least 20 races and ballot questions, with the presidential race being the first one listed.
Here's what you'll notice: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is still listed as a presidential candidate despite dropping out of the race. In a 3-2 vote Thursday, the board decided to keep Kennedy on the 2024 ballot, citing it is too late to reprint ballots already being prepared for voters. Kennedy, in response, is suing the board to remove his name.
Kamala Harris' name is listed first, while Donald Trump's is closer to the bottom. That's had some Republicans on social media raising concerns, wondering if that ballot position would give Harris an advantage.
But, It ultimately depended on pure luck of the draw.

I know somehow this is right but do people really vote based on how the name is placed on the ballot?
I don’t I find the name and bubble it in
Probably got the top spot because she’s one quarter (two bits) negro. The Rosa Parks thingy. The White Guilt crowd is doing a lot of asskissing these days and they don’t care how black you are, they are lovin’ it.
“do people really vote based on how the name is placed on the ballot?”
In many areas of life, for many people, appearance is king.
What crooks these guys are.
What a cluster that was.
Trump team should sue to get a better location on the NC ballot.
The arrows make it pretty clear to me.
She’s being treated like an incumbent, and incumbents tend to get the top spot, at least in my county.
Trump should get the 2nd spot.
So they said that if anyone voted on that spot on the line between Bush’s name and Gore’s name (equidistant between the two names) then their intent was to vote for Gore? Why couldn’t their intent have been to vote for Bush? Or to vote for neither!
Just sayin’.
Could it be -— the order of the alphabet?
Absolutely. That’s the lowest down the list he should be. Anything lower than the number two slot is just a pathetic political games.
Excellent suggestion!
I thought each ballot was unique as to position of candidates.
I’m sure it’s alphabetical order. They all should be. That’s typically how things are done with everything. People voting for trump will not be deterred by a name at the end of the alphabet.
Alphabetical by surname, same as always.
