Oh that’s good, that’s a relief. I was worried about all the people having to go through that.
My sister was a neurologist, treated ALS frequently. She told her patients to not get on a ventilator at the end, that the quality of life would be limited. I hope they didn’t listen to her. She had ironically got als, a very quick version, and she went on a ventilator as quick as she could. But I’m glad to know she and others didn’t suffer that much at the end.

Well, when you work in ICU for a while you see things that you would not want to go through. So some RN’s talk about having a No CPR tattoo’d on their chest. Sometimes Doctors and family go way beyond what the patient agrees too, so the patient may suffer needlessly. It is called quality of life decision, do I want to be on a ventilator when there is little chance of recovery? There are things we do to keep people alive that you know won’t work that are not very pleasant. That’s my 2 cents, nothing wrong with dying naturally, delaying death “sometimes” is not a good idea. We certainly have saved many people from dying, but medicine has its limits. Yes, and prayer certainly makes a big difference. Sometimes healing means no more suffering, for the Christian will be with the Lord.

When I think back of all the instances where we were frustrated with Republican presidents, not knowing why they weren’t doing anything conservative, now it’s all clear because of Trump exposing them for what they were. And why they were so corrupt. When I think of all the underhanded things done here over the last 20, 40 years, behind the scenes and without us knowing and violating the Constitution, I’m so grateful for Trump exposing it. Between him and Musk, I think we will get to know everything shortly. Thank God for Musk buying twitter, I think that was the beginning of the Free Speech coming back. Before that we just had Pravda
As a nurse you have a lot more knowledge than most people. It would be nice if all this was explained better when people fill out their Wills or do those Medical forms.
Just like with my animals, I don’t want to do anything that just extends their suffering if there is no hope.

when I was working full time, I madeit A POINT TO Go INTO THE WAITING ROOM WITH patient family (id they were currently being resuscuitated, nd ask them if they knew what that meant. then described clearly about chest compression, and possible fractured ribs, and about what hppens when one is defibrillated. I think we owe it to patients and especially their loved ones to inform them of what happens when we are attempting to resuscitate. All too often people are asked to complete healthcare directives without someone honestly explaining what happens, which I find to be unconscianable. AND, my first impression of the latest school shooter...she looks like a spoiled brat that should have had a severe attitude adjustment from fy erhwe parents years ago ort gift her with leathergoods for Christmas-—a belt in the mouth and a boot in the arse! (Not to mention shampooing that mop of hair.
