At one point, my sixth grade class debated whether Papua, Indonesia should petition the US to make it a state. I don’t remember us reaching a conclusion. I think time ran out. But, one of the most amusing parts of it was how better items would be available for purchase, including dishwashers. The rebuttal was, we already have dishwashers, only we call them “pembantus,” maids!
I have no idea what he said, and frankly, I don’t think he does either.

I see Biden fell asleep today in Africa at a meeting. Can you imagine the uproar if that had been President Trump? I recall him closing his eyes once as he listened and absorbed and they went nuts, thinking they caught him sleeping.

Hi, Judy! I grew up in the inner city where the snow becomes a slushy, grey mess or an icy, grey mess after a couple of days. I live in the country now, and it stays beautiful for a long time. (One of many blessings.)
I think living rural is more how God intended us to be.
Or maybe it’s because concrete and buildings make me sad.

1st Corinthians 13 (A Christmas Version)
If I decorate my house perfectly with plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights and shiny balls, but do not show love to my family, I’m just another decorator.
If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet meals and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime, but do not show love to my family, I’m just another cook.
If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home and give all that I have to charity, but do not show love to my family, it profits me nothing.
If I trim the spruce with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes, attend a myriad of holiday parties and sing in the choir’s cantata, but do not focus on those I love the most, I have missed the point.
...In other words,
Love stops the cooking to hug a child.
Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the spouse.
Love is kind, though harried and tired.
Love doesn’t envy another’s home that has coordinated Christmas china and table linens.
Love doesn’t yell at the kids to get out of the way, but is thankful they are there to be in the way.
Love doesn’t give only to those who are able to give in return, but rejoices in giving to those who can’t.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails.
Video games will break, pearl necklaces will be lost, golf clubs will rust.
But the gift of love will endure.

Today I tackled a cabbage.
I know we’ve all seen the past couple years the pictures and prepping of cabbage steaks. Not to be confused with the moo cow steaks
so I decided to divide a cabbage for several cabbage steaks and the rest to make Haluski -a Slovak dish. The problem is I started to cut the cabbage steaks and I cut the wrong way into the head of cabbage.
So I ended up making wedges. With the butter with the olive oil with the spices and in the air fryer, it was absolutely wonderful.
I also have the cabbage chopped up and onions and the garlic prepped for Haluski tomorrow.
Don’t I lead a fascinating life?
