I think I’ll take a pass on the grits. I remember years ago when all the Italians around were telling me about how out of this world delicious polenta was.....I couldn’t wait to have some. So I went to a big polenta dinner.....good grief. Boiled cornmeal. Bland, blah. It was ok if you covered it with sauce and meatballs....but it certainly didn’t live up to the hype. I suspect grits will be the same thing lol.
Update....Natalie’s brain scan showed very severe activity on one area. The therapist was quite concerned, as she had only ever seen that twice before and it didn’t end well. She’s going to take her case very seriously and consult with everyone she knows, and start into extensive treatment. The symptoms Natalie is showing are the same as another lady with this brain scan.....absolute hopelessness. Severe PTSD. It doesn’t matter how wonderful her life was, how good things were for her....if the brain is damaged, nothing else matters.
She met a nice lady who just arrived, from Alabama. This lady has ocd as well, and she said exactly the same thing. “I had the perfect life, yet here I am.” They seem to have bonded a bit, so I hope that helps as well.

Alright, let’s focus on the positive things: God is sovereign. Natalie is in a pretty location and that does help to move the focus away from negative thoughts. The therapist is concerned and therefore she is working diligently for things to work out. And, Natalie is not alone. She has a family of prayer warriors interceding for her. The problem has been discovered and now it is being targeted. Natalie is not alone and is not dealing with this alone.
While it’s true we don’t know the outcome yet, there are good things working for Natalie’s success.
Polenta is a good comparison to grits. It is yucky, too.

I am currently at Mar-a-Lago, and 45–47 is in a meeting. The movements being reported by the unofficial “pool” who are staked outside of the property—of cars, vans, ambulances, and a helicopter hovering above, are that of Vice President-elect @JDVance’s motorcade. Nothing more, nothing less. Sadly, they thought they were on to something more. Hopefully they clarify and correct immediately!

I was somewhat surprised when I spoke with her tonight. She actually seemed like her old self. She said she wasn’t surprised by what the scan revealed, and it seemed to bother me more than it bothered her. I asked her if her new friend from Alabama had an accent, and she laughed. She was joking about how she was going to come home with some weird accent, a combination of every one.
I haven’t heard her mention coming home before, unless it was to say that it was never going to happen. So you are right, I am going to focus on the positive. Thank you for your prayers and uplifting words. You really are a Jem!
I don’t know, Dolly. I have to trust that they know what they’re doing. It’s not up to me to intervene. They were going to call Matt tonight and go over everything with him.

Hopefully she’s got nothing to hide.
Everybody has an accent reflecting their surroundings. One time I was speaking with my next-door-neighbor and she said, “You’re not from around here. You’re from the north, aren’t you?” And yes, I do reflect my parents’ northern accents.
But later that same day, I speaking with my brother over the phone. He was living in Chicago, I think. All of a sudden he exclaimed, “I haven’t heard such a thick southern accent in a long time!”
Judy, thank you so much for keeping us all in the loop with your daughter. I guess most of us feel like we’re her aunts annd uncles and you’re our sister..
I know you’re tremendously hurting and worried about this Judy and the only thing I can add to Jemians comments
are to Remember when God said, be still and know that I am God
if you could just concentrate on that concept that being still is to calm your mind, your body clear your head almost Zen-like I guess, and just focus on God, as irrational as this may sound, it is the way of clarity. Quiet meditation is the opposite of what Natalie has been doing .
I believe Natalie‘s situation is a good lesson for all of us to not be super absorbed in things of which we have no control . we just have to hand it all to God
if we are in control we must take appropriate action as best we can

I have known Pam for many years — She is smart and tough, and is an AMERICA FIRST Fighter, who will do a terrific job as Attorney General!

Very interesting. I didn’t know that the way we think could actually damage our brain. Prayers for Natalie and the Alabama Lady
I always wanted a red tabby myself. Autumn was funny though, she was a petite little one-eyed lady in a recovery suit, and she would Corner my other cats and not let them leave. So we couldn’t keep her.
I did get her daughter that is a flame point siamese, meaning all her points are red stripes like mama. So that’s as close as I’ve gotten to a red tabby.
