This should definitely hurt him. He cannot say that he “misspoke” when he put it on his application.
He appeared to be competent over the Key Bridge disaster, but he’s a liar like the rest of the Democrats.
Race of professional victims. He will get a pass for his dishonesty.
How many more will admit to stolen valor or some other false claim in order to egotistically pursue higher positions on the taxpayers' dole?
Biden will see he gets a bronze star asap to end that narrative.
Democratic governors seem to constitute a distinct class of deviants. More evidence that any vote for any Democrat anywhere anytime is a vote to destroy the American nation.
I’m from MD and I don’t!
ALL DEMOCRATS ARE LIARS!
You can tell it’s fake because he “won” and “was awarded” the bronze star.
No, it’s “earned”. Purple Heart is occasionally the exception.
For the record, I earned a bronze star, with oak leaves for valor.
But I was given a Purple Heart for being a dumbass (in my case) who let his guard down.
Guess which one makes my license plate, lol.
Hahaha, how do you accidentally type this?
Maybe he's onto something, I'll accidentally claim an annual income of $3.72 to the IRS next year and see how that works out for me.
As a former petty officer and junior commissioned officer, there were times when I knew not to follow advice that I suspected or knew to be wrong, no matter how much I admired the senior person offering it or how strongly I wanted advancement or some achievement. So, my first question is, did he ever add the award to his ribbon bar or pin it on? And are there photos?
As someone who was recommended for an award from my actions in combat that I did not receive, and who over the course of my careers filled out hundreds of applications, his action - falsely claiming that award - suggests a probable & serious character flaw. As a psychologist I hesitate to say that with certainty, of course, having never conducted a clinical interview of this man.
It’s been said that any officer who served in Afghanistan or Iraq received a Bronze Star almost as a party favor. David French, the NYT columnist, a JAG (i.e military lawyer) in Iraq, got one. DeSantis got one.
Military lawyers are officers. So was Wes Moore. That he failed to get a Bronze Star despite his racial quota bump and his officer status suggests he was far, far away from any physical danger.
Bronze Stars, especially with the V device for battlefield valor, can be hard to get. One of my professors who was a Ranger in the Salerno campaign finally got his decades after the fact. His job, to find the enemy and count him, was hairy as heck. His team were few and had no firepower to speak of, so relied on stealth to stay alive or out of captivity.
Nobody likes a poser.
Stolen valor has a term of limitations of seven years, no?
He lied about being a hero.
It doesnt matter by how much.
Democrat/Communists lie ... it’s what they do ... and it’s not an occasional thing as with most all politicians and unelected bureaucrats ... it’s innate ... and, in their minds, excusable because, well, they have “good intentions” you understand.
For all of you on this thread that are downplaying the valor of soldiers that have been awarded a Bronze Star for their actions in battle and try to equate it to a participation trophy let me say lucky for you, you are not within arm’s reach of me because my blood is boiling right now. I never knew soldiers were so catty. Not a good look.
The Air Force’s Personnel Center says that the award goes to service members who perform “acts of heroism in ground combat.”
Why did they ask AFPC?
I personally know of one person who was awarded the Bronze Star for service in Germany during OEF.
