French President Emmanuel Macron acknowledged Monday that authorities had arrested the founder and CEO of the widely used messaging app Telegram, saying it was "not a political decision at all" and that Pavel Durov's fate was in the hands of France's independent judicial authorities. French media said Durov was detained Saturday over Telegram's alleged failure to moderate criminal activity on the platform, which has also been used by pro-democracy activists worldwide.

Macron said France remained committed to the tenets of "freedom of expression and communication, to innovation and entrepreneurship," but added that "freedoms are exercised within a framework established by law to protect citizens and respect their fundamental rights."

“France’s arrest of Telegram boss Pavel Durov “not a political decision at all,”

Expected, as with Trump, it’s only political when Russia arrests people in similar situations.

Then why is the President of the country commenting on a simple arrest?

“And we will arrest anyone who disagrees,” Macron added.

Naw, it's more likely because Russia sent so many Frog Mercs home from Ukraine, dead and permanently disabled, before they even got to reinforce the Uke Nazi front.

All collaborator Macron could do was find a Russian alone, unarmed, in France.

Durov was very much anti-Putin, and left Russia after refusing requests from the Russian Government several times to give names of certain users connected to Maidan, Ukraine and some other political events. Same sort of info that US DHS regularly controls and gets from Google, META, US telecoms, etc... But Durov was never arrested

Dmitry Medvedev, who often acts as Putin's doberman, is certainly publicly enjoying the irony that Durov was arrested in France - Durov's adopted country.

Yeah, right - and Macron isn't a totalitarian bent on stamping out free speech in France. Didn't this clown lose an election recently? Is he ever planning to step down, or is being voted out of office as passe as free speech in France?

“Dmitry Medvedev, who often acts as Putin’s doberman, is certainly publicly enjoying the irony that Durov was arrested in France - Durov’s adopted country.”

Russia is LOVING IT - The so-called ‘human rights’ NGOs who took to the WORLD STAGE to declare what a horrible government Russia has when they hassled (but didn’t arrest) him earlier...seem to be ‘on holiday’ regarding Durov now that France has arrested him for allowing free speech.

Pretty much PROVES that the NGOs are simply arms of the Globalists...perhaps they were independent when they formed, but now they have been captured by them. This case makes that about as clear as possible.

Pavel Durov's fate was in the hands of France's "independent" judicial authorities.

In other words he is a goner. It is hopeless.

said every totalitarian monster in the last century. "We are silencing you for the greater good."

Absolutely it was.

If Durov is arrested for being responsible for the content of Telegram and complicit in illegal activity because of his moderation of it, then Macron is just as responsible for ALL the evil that exists and he allows in his country. He should be the one arrested for not stopping rioting, rapes, theft, wanton destruction, etc by the foreign invaders they have let in their country.

France has taken up Beria’s claim, “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime”! Beria was Stalin’s enforcer.
