An amnesty and compensation scheme for people in England and Wales who possess zombie-style knives and machetes is starting ahead of the weapons being banned next month.
New legislation will close a loophole and make it an imprisonable offence to own, make, transport or sell a wide range of what are called ‘statement’ knives favoured by criminal gangs.
People who currently legally possess such knives can hand them in to police stations without fear of prosecution and, in some cases, claim compensation.
The new law, which comes into force on 24 September, will cover the manufacture, supply, sale, possession and importation of these weapons.
There are exemptions for people who have good reason to own the items, for example, a specialist machete used in forestry or an antique Samurai sword.

So basically the U.K. is like one big airport terminal now.
Zombie knives look cool, but they lose functionality as they become stylized.
They aren’t as scary as a straight up Kabar or Bowie knife
When do they take away their matches? You can start a lot of trouble with those little sticks of fire!

Knife crime is rampant, so i understand they want to do something. Banning “Zombie Knives” won`t cut it (ahem) It`s not like you need a special knife to kill. Look at Solingen. The killer used a plain chef`s knife from his kitchen.
Any decent piece of steel and a grinder. . Then a little time well make you a knife
Let’s see if the Brits learned anything from giving up their guns.
Wouldn’t it be simpler to just ban everything? Then, the government would have grounds to prosecute or imprison anyone they wish. Shoot, that’s what they seem to be doing incrementally anyway.
