Michigan Judge Rules Cornel West Must Appear on Ballot

A Michigan judge ruled that independent presidential candidate Cornel West must appear on the state’s ballot.

In a ruling on Saturday shared by the watchdog group Fair Election Fund, Judge James Robert Redford ruled that state officials were “ordered to qualify” West and his running mate, Melina Abdullah, as independent candidates on the Michigan ballot.

Redford wrote in his ruling:

The state defendants are ordered to qualify West and Abdullah as independent candidates for the ballot, on the condition that the Board of State Canvassers does not determine they are disqualified after a review of the signatures on the qualifying petitions and West complies with MCL 168.590d(2).

They still kept him off the ballot in Pennsylvania, New York, and Georgia. They took Jill Stein off the ballot in New York, Georgia, Illinois and are suing her in Montana. The Democrats will put Trump in jail and keep all third party candidates off the ballots in swing states. If he challenges the election in Michigan the governor will put him in jail also.

I don’t think he will, seeing the implications of the deference that Bragg’s made. I think it quietly gets postponed until after the election in a couple of weeks, and then the media goes crazy.

If sentencing goes through, then it immediately gets shot down in appeals and may get reversed by SCOTUS itself as “official acts” definitely comes into question. Even worse would be immediate appeal and reversal by the NY appeals, which is likely to, based on Merchan’s non recusal. There’s just too much illegality by the judge.
