In what may be a surprise blow to Democrats' chances of holding a key red state seat in the U.S. House, Alaska Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom announced Friday she is suspending her campaign for Congress.
Dahlstrom was in what was essentially a three-way race with incumbent Democratic Rep. Mary Peltola and Republican Nick Begich III, who comes from a prominent political family in The Last Frontier.
While Dahlstrom did not immediately endorse Begich, she suggested in comments announcing her withdrawal that her reason for running was to see Peltola defeated.
"I entered this race because Alaskans deserve better representation than what we have received from Mary Peltola in Washington," Dahlstrom said in a statement.

This is really screwy. So primary results in 4 candidates?
Very nonsensical. Ca, WA and LA have this jungle primary, where two winners get to fight. That seems somewhat legit. This is nonsense!
They try it to implement it here in AZ. Put it as proposition on the ballot. May not make it, they have too many duplicate signatures, I think.
There was no RCV per se during the primaries here. You voted for one candidate once. It is a foregone conclusion that the top three move on to the general election where there will be the silly RCV on the ballot. There is a referendum to remove RCV for Alaska on this years ballot.
I hope. De Santis didn’t get enough credit for ignoringTrump’s demented attacks on him and then going ahead to campaign for him. I wish other former contenders or third party candidates would do this as well. People like De Santis,and RFK Jr have put the country and our fate ahead of their personal ambitions or resentments. Patriots all.
Trump wouldn’t have been my first choice but he’s the candidate and he must win or we’re done.
Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.
A very good reason to send a campaign donation to Nancy Dahlstrom.
I’m sure Peltola will call it cheating.
Maybe he was born wit some morals and integrity. It does happen. Often time conservatives end up with idiot children that become DemonRats.
I’ve heard of members of a Republican family turning out Democrat, but never the opposite.
