(The Center Square) – A coalition of states led by Kansas has sued the Biden-Harris administration to block the federal government from providing free health care through the taxpayer-funded Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare, to foreign nationals in the U.S. illegally....
DACA supporters argue recipients should be granted citizenship...Others argue those with criminal records, at a minimum, should be deported. Within the first five years of the program, nearly 80,000 DACA recipients were released into the U.S. with arrest records...
If the CMS final rule takes effect Nov. 1, more than 200,000 DACA recipients would automatically become eligible...
The lawsuit cites data from the Migration Policy Institute, Pew Research Center and others to estimate how many illegal foreign nationals are estimated to receive public benefits and the associated costs...

So who pays for their Obamacare coverage? The state or the feds?
If the state—then only the state should be allowed to offer them coverage. Period.
CLOWARD-PIVEN STRATEGY.
IT’S INTENTIONAL..........................
Virtually any government program with a budget will be a target by politicians to funnel money to whatever constituency they want to have it. Take social security. It has become the place to put every possible “charity” imaginable. I have some renters who have never paid in a dime to social security and who have been living off “benefits” for their entire lives. Definitely not what the program was set up to do. But can you imagine how hard it would be to set up and fund dozens or hundreds of separate funds for all the many “good causes” a politician can dream up? It’s so much easier to just adjust the rules for something already funded to include your new recipient. This is why government programs are inherently inflationary.
People on subsidies are incentivized not to work as it would cut them off from the free money. In some cases, they pass up dollars to accept free dimes. This probably isn’t the definition of evil, but if not it’s down in the footnotes.
We, the taxpayers.
I’m old enough to remember when a congressman was slammed for saying Obama was lying about exactly this.
BTTT
Okay. State taxpayers or Federal taxpayers?
I think you could use whichever one best suits your argument.
The states are suing the federal government. I read the article and nowhere does it say who has to pay the Obamacare premiums for the insurance recipients are receiving.
Like all things with government—nothing is free—taxpayers pay.
I assume the states have to pay, because they are suing, but it doesn’t say. I was just asking if my assumption was correct.
It’s not my argument.
Is there anyone here who knows?
