BERLIN (AP) – A German court on Tuesday rejected an appeal by a 99-year-old woman who was convicted of being an accessory to more than 10,000 murders for her role as a secretary to the SS commander of the Nazis’ Stutthof concentration camp during World War II.
The Federal Court of Justice upheld the conviction of Irmgard Furchner, who was given a two-year suspended sentence in December 2022 by a state court in Itzehoe in northern Germany.
She was accused of being part of the apparatus that helped the camp near Danzig, now the Polish city of Gdansk, function. She was convicted of being an accessory to murder in 10,505 cases and an accessory to attempted murder in five cases.

I wish they would go after the Muslim criminals with the same persistence.
Nah, she’d have just been fired and had to take up some other job somewhere else.
She had to have known what was going on, that is not deniable. Others did things to resist or actively fight against the evil things that were happening - even camp slave laborers committed occasional sabotage.
To passively exist is not a defense.
Good point
Soon they will be jailing the 100 year old sisters of gas station attendants who filled delivery trucks that drove to concentration camps.
IMO you see it’s now a tool of the progressive left to show the moral need of their existence…sort of an official state virtue signal.
Meanwhile the 3rd world invasion continues, but yes look here..over here!!! At the Nazi’s in nursing homes THATS the danger (they are saying in so many other words).
Better late than never.
And yet Germany is supporting a country that regards Nazi collaberator/murderer Stepan Bandera as a hero.
Get back to us when Putin starts prosecuting former Gulag administrators.
Oh wait...that’s his support base
NM
Maybe we can finally indict and convict some of our Deep State criminals...when they are ninety nine years old...
Lol.
"Spoke up" or just "quit and walked away"? Germans who just refused to participate in the Holocaust weren't generally punished according to most accounts. Able-bodied males might end up in a combat unit, but so did a lot of other able-bodied males.
"Speaking up" on any topic critical of the regime, on the other hand, would land a person in considerable trouble.
Not a big fan of prosecuting 99yo secretaries, though. They let a lot of the big fish go in the 1950's and 1960's, and are now trying to virtue-signal by prosecuting the nearly-dead junior underlings.
I would say this has importance when they start jailing all the NGO workers and politicians for aiding and abetting all the drug and human traffickers across the southern border.

“Concerns?”
Yes. I do not think she’s guilty of being an accessory to murder. She was a secretary doing secretarial work such as typing, filing, taking notes, answering phones, etc.
Now did she have anything at all to do with the murder victims such as herding them around, tattooing them, collecting their clothes, actual murder, guarding their barracks, etc? If yes, then she’s an accessory.
We do not have access to the facts the court considered, but based on this story, she’s innocent.
A related concern is going after the innocent here once the commies take full control. Many a Korean and Vietnam war vets killed commies. I can see them rounded up and put in gulags. This may seem silly, but 40 years ago if someone mentioned we’d have trannies in high government places and children sexually mutilated they would have been laughed at.
I wonder to what extent she had much of a choice. I don’t know the answer.
It’s a small step from here to “Smith and Wesson are a liable accessory for the crime of murder”.
Now do George Soros.
As if she never spoke to another Nazi, didn’t wonder what her own files were about. Lived in a bubble? People all over Germany ratting out Jews and she just didn’t know. Give me a break.
