Former Justice Minister: Deal proposed today is 'the worst deal imaginable'
Arutz Sheva ^ | 19/8/24

Former Justice Minister Haim Ramon spoke out against the proposed ceasefire-prisoner swap deal, saying that it is "the worst deal" that Israel could possibly agree to.

In an interview with 103 FM Radio, Ramon said, "The deal proposed today is the worst of all worlds. In practice, we will end the war. Anyone who thinks that after 42 days, by pressing a button, we will restart the war - is making a mistake. People will return to the Gaza border area, to the north, and it will be very hard to continue the war."

"Because it is this way, and we will receive only 20 living hostages and not the rest, there is no way that Hamas and [Hamas leader Yahya] Sinwar will implement the second part" of the deal," he explained.

"What needs to be offered to Sinwar is to end the war on condition that all the hostages are returned, with all of the heavy prices, with the Philadelphi [Corridor]. All at once, they all come back. If they all come back, that has a value which it is hard to imagine from the perspective of Israeli society, from the perspective of how how we will feel, and the lowly murderers? Their day will come. But all of them need to be returned, with all the enormous significance. If Sinwar says no, it only proves that he does not want to release them all."

Blinky, Branda and Brandon think it's wonderful. They get a photo op and a talking point for the election, and the Hamas protestors won't burn down quite so much of Chicago as they would otherwise. As for the Jooos!...the Palis...Why don't they all just move to Chicago, where random violence is the old normal./s

“Blinky, Branda and Brandon think it’s wonderful. They get a photo op and a talking point for the election”

A large number of Americans perceptions of this conflict, as a world priority, has dropped off the list. They just don’t care anymore. They know that Israel is close to wrapping up operations in Gaza, and there really isn’t much Hamas left that is organized. They also know, if they paid any kind of attention, that the UN has admitted that it participated in the attack. Further, they see the attack in its correct political perspective of Iranian aggression and terror promotion. Some even perceive it as a backwater to the Ukraine-Russian conflict. The TV photo ops will be met with ho-hums (except the FedGov/DNC controlled media) by most of the world, except the Palestinians who will get a reprieve from the Whirlwind, and claim victory.

The “talking point” will only be for the Palestinian supporters, to bring peace within the democratic party and votes to the polls. Neither the attack by Hamas, the absolute depravity of the masses that cheered it on, the assistance of the UN, nor the Israeli positions, will change. The next conflict will be born from an inadequate Israeli response to this one. The death will go on.

I will predict now, that Hamas and the Palestinians will never uphold the agreement. Yes, enough will happen for a photo op and to try to get Iranian friendly Bamala (not a typo) into office. The few utterly damaged souls the Israeli save will be no compensation for the coming next death toll. Israel will lose the US support by helping to elect another term of Obama, and Iran will be emboldened.

But that works for the ghastly trio. If it appeases the pro-Pali demonstrators, the Party will hold together long enough to steal another election.

Perhaps:

24 hours of no bombing for every live hostage returned after August 1st
12 bonus hours for each additional live hostage returned on the same day
6 hours of no bombing for every hostage dead before August 1 delivered up

24 hours of no bombing if a complete set of tunnel maps is furnished to the Israeli negotiating team before September

The Israeli negotiating team to supply a list of possible hostages within ten days. Israel within Gaza within any 30 day plus bombing halt hours period to use no more than 500 kilograms of high explosives via aerial bombs as there are such possible hostages not returned or delivered up.

HAMAS and the Palestinian Authority separately and jointly agree to prosecute all violence against hostages with terms of imprisonment comparable to those typically handed out in the USA, including for crimes as kidnapping, false imprisonment, rape, murder and battery.

Israel reserves the right to shoot to kill by gunfire any suspected terrorist not treated as a war criminal should be and any person presenting an apparent armed threat to Israelis. In Gaza, HAMAS and the Palestinian Authority agree to publicly discourage unofficial public carrying of weapons Israel might think pose an apparent armed threat to Israelis. In Gaza, HAMAS and the Palestinian Authority members shall only carry weapons while in an official uniform.

Except during no bombing periods and periods of internationally evident vigorous prosecution and punishment of violent actions against hostages, Israel shall have the right to kill by missiles with warheads of less than six kilograms of high explosive suspected terrorists not treated as a war criminal should be.

Restrictions imposed on Israel by this agreement shall voided by any Gazan source action in gross violation of this agreement, including the taking of one or more hostages.

NOTE 1: Every Gazan would have an incentive to find hostages so they can be returned.
NOTE 2: Does not call for the release of terrorists now held by Israel.
NOTE 3: Caps the amount of bombing Israel can do within any 30-day period and reduces even that upon the return of each hostage.
NOTE 4: Allows Palestinians to deal with terrorists and war criminals now running loose in Gaza judicially themselves rather than having the IDF deal with them.

This would have to be offered directly to the Gazans themselves, by dropping leaflets or broadcast on SMSes.

Hamas should be out of the loop, and a bounty placed on the heads of the big honchos, dead or alive. Hamas delinda est.

You missed the bounties? There were offers of $100k-400k for info very quickly in October, and $1 million for exact location of Hamas leadership since.

Some of them are in Qatar, with big signs on their backs saying “Drone me!”

It has almost been a year of negotiations. As if centuries haven’t proven muslims are required to lie to their enemies. Give them an ultimatum of live hostages within 3 days and Israel will consider maybe not turning Gaza into a parking lot. Day 4 - parking lot and building 6 more iron domes.

Well, accidents can happen, and Mossad’s good at encouraging them to happen.
