Vice President Harris is nipping at former President Trump’s heels in his home state of Florida, a pollster from Suffolk University says after a new Sunshine State survey.
The USA Today/Suffolk University/WSVN-TV poll found Harris just 5 points behind Trump among likely Florida voters, 42 percent to 47 percent, just outside the poll’s margin of error.
Florida has a million more registered Republicans than Democrats, and Trump won the state in both 2016 and 2020.
“Given those circumstances, I was surprised that Harris is within striking distance, being only 5 points down,” David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center, told USA Today in a Tuesday report.
Among Florida independents, the vice president leads the former president with 41 percent support to 34 percent, with independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. taking 10 percent.

Even if not every R loves Trump - and most do - I’d say it would be nearly impossible for democrats to overcome the registration advantage the GOP has in Florida.

I don’t believe this poll anymore than polls that have PDJT gliding to victory. I don’t know what happened, but polls have gotten worse and worse as predictors it seems.
Yep. I’ve decided now to ignore polls. They’re nothing but attempts by the media to promote Cackling Kamala. What they did in 2020 for Biden was bad enough, but Harris is just plain stupid and incompetent. It’s just hard for me to accept that non Democrats will vote to make the economy even worse.

Then again, plenty of people pointed out that polls are not particularly reliable and are prone to being used as influence instead of reflecting reality.
I don't care what this poll says when you consider the actual Republican vs dem registered voters in Florida. It's very easy to dismiss this poll when you look at the overall situation without even bothering to address the internals of said poll.
I saw some local Miami media coverage of this...total bias for the left.
What do their internals say? What didn’t they mention in the “newscast”?

2. Trump is getting 50% support among Hispanics.
3. 53% of the Democrats polled say the country is moving in the right direction!
Correct. Their base is sitting on their hands. They are in full blown panic mode since Trump destroyed the big lie Biden was cognitive.
What is the latest poll on Florida (R) Senator Rick Scott?
Rick Scott won by a fraction of 1% in 2018.
Also, Ted Cruz was within the margin of error in Texas about a month ago.
Any improvement for Cruz?
