Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson has agreed to attend social-media training as mandated by the College of Psychologists of Ontario, the governing body for the profession in that province. In 2022, the college determined that Peterson, who has gained international fame for his refusal to bow down to transgender ideology and other left-wing causes of the moment, must attend such training or lose his license.
The college determined that Peterson’s posts on social media, particularly those concerning transgenderism, could be viewed as “degrading.” They noted a post directed against a former city councilor in which Peterson declared that person’s use of they/them pronouns as an “appalling, self-righteous, moralizing thing.” The person was not a patient of Peterson’s, and Peterson claims that no patient of his has complained.
Peterson has been fighting the allegations since they became public. His attorney in the matter, Howard Levitt, referred to the Canadian Supreme Court’s decision not to hear the matter as “a tragic day for Canada.” Levitt said in an email to the Canadian Broadcasting Company:
It seems ironic, even tragic, that he, one of the most adept persons in social media in this country and beyond, is going to attend “re-education” from people inherently less skilled and knowledgeable than he is himself. The decision is a tragedy for freedom of speech in this country.
Egale Canada, an LGBT activist group, celebrated the decision. Bennett Jensen, the group’s legal director, said in a statement:
2SLGBTQI communities often face discrimination and barriers in accessing healthcare. This is why a clinical psychologist making transphobic, discriminatory, and false claims is particularly harmful and directly interferes with trans people’s safety and autonomy. Psychologists belong to the group of professions that act as gatekeepers...

The future is now.
lol - yep. You almost don’t need the actual training. Once you realize the ‘corporate answer’ they’re usually easy, outside of one or two questions where there’s either more than one answer required or there’s two answers that could be correct when only one is required...and you have to be exactly right.
The ones specific to California employers shocked me a bit.
Do what Ben Shapiro says he did to get through college, UCLA, I believe -— tell them what they want to hear to pass the courses and get the degree, not believing a thing he told them.
Just retire. I’m sure he’s old enough.
Ha! I read that sometime in the very early 1980s and the only takeaway I remember is that quality is the meeting ground between the subject and the object and that electrotherapy was still a thing back then.
Never would have guessed Canada is such an evil place.
Again? They tried to deprogram him a couple of years ago.
You see those empty seats? They represent the people that took the alternative training involving a cattle prod to the genitals. Those in the room are regretting not taking the alternative training.
Coming to a hell-camp near you.
“ Peterson will tear them to shreds once it is over.”
I bet it’s one of those lame, on-line, animated courses.
I worked for a community college in MD, and we had to take all kinds of on-line BS training sessions.
I have read it a few times on and off over the years, but last time about 20 years ago I think.
Interesting book...what is “quality”...:)
LOL! Believable!
Peterson has said he intends to record the sessions and make them publicly available at some point. The action you suggest would appear to make him liable for more actions later, and in any case not the path Peterson expects to take.
His claim that he wasn’t going to comply seemed to be a claim to fight it in court rather than acquiescing.
My company seems to acknowledge it is all silliness, though some of the upper management hasn’t gotten that.
The training doesn’t ask “what is x”, it asks “according to this document, what is x”.
The test is defined as convincing the assigned trainers that he has learned his lesson. There is no standard, only wrong answers.
A bit disappointing that Jordon submitted. I thought he was adamant.
As I understand, his daughter already has.
