The US has to be ready for what could be a significant set of attacks against Israel by Iran and its proxies, US National Security Communications adviser John Kirby told reporters in a virtual briefing Monday, as international diplomats raced to avert a regional war.
“We have increased our force posture and capabilities in the region even in just the last few days,” Kirby said, adding that “we have to be prepared for what could be a significant set of attacks.”
The most important step right now is making sure that "Israel can defend itself and that we, the United States, have in place the proper force to help them defend themselves,” Kirby said.

Who would you rather the U.S. be aligned with in the M.E.?
Nobody.

So if and when WWIII breaks out, who should we expect to come to our aid? Or do you only oppose having allies in the M.E.?
Or is the game plan to go it alone? U.S. vs the world?
Question: If Iran attacks Israel and it’s more significant than the last time.
Should Israel...
1)Retaliate immediately
2) make Iran do the waiting game as Israel has been doing the last several days
or
3) Not retaliate at all?
I think this “crisis” is probably over. Israel has sown that it can strike anywhere it wants and has shown some military capabilities that Iran probably doesn’t want to test at this time. Regardless of the reports on progress, Iran and probably the USA do not know far along Israel’s laser anti rocket weapon has developed. If they can destroy a missile as it rises above the horizon it would be terribly embarrassing to the mullahs.

First of all, if WW III breaks out, I would hope we would observe it from the sidelines.
If we were attacked, I would "expect" the UK to come to our aid, that's about it.
I don't expect any nation to come to our aid when needed, Israel included.
Israel has a strong Israel First foreign policy. They see everything as an existential threat. I don't expect them to ever sacrifice their interests for the U.S.
If China gains an upper hand over the U.S., I expect Israel to try and strengthen their ties with China, even at our expense.
Israel is no friend of the U.S. Offhand, I can't think of any nation that is. Do nations have friends? We have client states. Some lobby for our support. Others, we occupy with our military.
As for Christianity, I adhere to what the overwhelming majority of the church -- Catholic, Orthodox, and mainline Protestant -- has taught for centuries. The Church is Israel. The modern state of Israel is just another country, with no special role in salvation history.

Me either! I’d rather we run our foreign policies according to CHRISTIAN principles.
We’ve had enough philosophical Socrates types that have influenced foreign policies, but I digress!
Biden is sleeping on a beach, there won’t be any attacks.
Perhaps you should visit Israel and experience first hand the threats that surround them on a daily basis.
As for your beliefs against Israel, you’d do well to become Scripturally informed of what the Bible says and lay your antisemitism aside:
What is replacement theology / supersessionism / fulfillment theology?

It’s good that SOMEBODY here holds to the new and eternal covenant...
How about intelligence sources for one thing?
How about the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty? That was a U.S. intelligence ship.
How about a Judeo Christian perspective?
The Jewish Sanhedrin court tried and convicted Jesus Christ. I guess from the Christian perspective, that was a rough start. The Orwellian contruct was first stated in print by George Orwell in 1941.
England expelled Jews in 1290. Jewish refugees were rejected by Canada, the United States, and the UK during WW2. When did the historical shared values begin?
What about the Judeo Muslim perspective?
Whatever Israel is going to do, go do it. Just do not expect the United States to pay for it, or bail Israel out with the U.S. military, or shield it from justice with an unwarranted veto in the UN Security Council.
Advocates of the term "Abrahamic religion" since the second half of the 20th century have proposed an inclusivism that widens the "Judeo-Christian" concept to include Islam as well. The rationale for the term "Abrahamic" is that Islam, like Judaism and Christianity, traces its origins to the figure of Abraham, whom Islam regards as a prophet. Advocates of this umbrella term consider it the "exploration of something positive" in the sense of a "spiritual bond" between Jews, Christians, and Muslims.
Perhaps we can just attribute the problems between the Jews and the Muslims to a family dispute between Semites resulting in difficulties with the bonding process.
I think it means an attempt to overwhelm the missile defense system using massive (in number, not size) attacks from several directions. They will likely attack from Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, and Iran. It would not surprise me to see attacks from the Med as well.
If I were doing it I would also take out the Israeli gas production facilities in the Med. But…that would mean the end of Iranian oil production. So that is why I am not a strategic genius.
As Joey still kissin Iran’s ass...
We must be ready to attack Iran....they got a pass last time.
I've read the Bible several times, including the Navarre Catholic Study Bible (ten volumes, because it contains so many study notes), and the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible (which I currently prefer).
And I continue to read the Bible every day. So I am "Scripturally informed" by traditional Catholic teaching.
<>And what is the basis of this “alliance”, and what does this “ally” do that is beneficial to the United States?<>
The basis is the defense of civilization against barbarians.
Per the muslim monsters, knocking off the little satan is the first step toward knocking off the US, the big satan.
