A schoolgirl and a woman have been rushed to hospital after they were stabbed in Leicester Square today in broad daylight.
The little girl, 11, and a woman, 34, were hospitalised after the nightmare unfolded in the bustling tourist hotspot just before midday.
Emergency crews were scrambled to the area, which sees thousands of visitors come through every day, just after 11.36am.
There were no immediate details about how badly injured either of the victims were but medics have taken them to a major trauma centre for treatment.
Detectives say a man has been arrested and is currently being held in custody.
A security guard said he 'jumped on' and took a knife from the man who stabbed the child.
The guard, who gave his name as Abdullah, 29, said he had worked in security at the TWG Tea shop for the past 'seven to eight months'.
He said: 'I heard a scream, at that moment I saw there was one person, roughly (in their) mid-30s or early 30s, and he was like stabbing a kid.
'I jumped on him, held the hand in which he was (carrying) a knife, and just put him down on the floor and just held him and took the knife away from him.
'Then a couple of more people joined as well, and we just held him until the police came, it took maybe three to four minutes for the police to arrive and then they just took him into custody.'
He and his colleagues gave first aid to the child before the police joined in, he said.
'I just saw a kid getting stabbed and I just tried to save her. It's my duty to just save them.'

Note the name is spelled different than the security guard.
Dear UK, embrace the power of a good population throwing their rotten government out...along with the perps of the religion of hate and murder. Revolution worked for us (and we need it again), and let it work for you.
Surprised they didn’t arrest the woman and the schoolgirl for bleeding on him. Or the security guard for tackling him.
In only 10 minutes. Watch and share.
“DEMAND the resignation of everyone in leadership who continues to allow this criminal element in their society.”

Its more likely that they will vote for more of the same people and policies instead.
Abdullah tackles Abdullah?
I used to stay in walking distance from Leicester Square when I visited London a few times during my days of working in the Middle East. My sister was living, studying and working in Chester then and we’d meet in London for a few days and then go elsewhere like Ireland and Yorkshire for a few days.
There was a pub we liked in Leicester Square where we’d often get a bite to eat and a couple of pints. It never felt at all unsafe back then.
It sounds like the left has thoroughly destroyed the place.
I hope the girl and the woman will be OK.
it was a hawai’in snack bar... aloha snackbar...
That was my first thought; a guard at a tea shop is not a good look for London.
An excellent recitation of the need for protection of free speech. Excellent.
Oh by the way there is a huge HUGGGGGGGGGEEEEE illegal invaders caravan on its way to our border. I cannot emphasize enough how big it is. Trump should call a press conference there on the border when the illegal invaders ram through our open border and shock the mediapukes and American folk. That would be historical!!
Police arrested “a man.”
Be on the lookout for any others by that description.
It amazes me that a security guard actually put himself in harm’s way to stop the attack. Usually, security guards are told to not get involved with attacks. He is a hero and should be praised.
Lots of photos of the London street scenes but nary a one of Abdullah.
This is the UK version of “It’s them again, Yogi.”
Apparently, the attacker is a phantom.
When his identity finally gets out the Muslims had best pack and head for camel land.
“Hmmm. No name or description of the suspect is given.”
But they gave the name of the guard - Abdullah.
Not so subtle gaslighting.
Ain’t that sumtin?
