ROME — Pope Francis prayed Sunday for the victims of the 1945 atomic bombing of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, a topic he has returned to on numerous occasions.

In these days we have commemorated “the anniversary of the atomic bombing of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki,” the pontiff told visitors gathered in Saint Peter’s Square for his weekly Angelus address.

The commie pope condemns the US bombing which saved millions of lives and says nothing about the communist regimes which have killed more than 100 million of their own people.

Did he pray for the thousands that the Japanese slaughtered in China, the women and children they burned to death, stabbed, raped ....the thousands the Japanese slaughtered in Korea and elsewhere during the great empire imperialism march to rule the world.

He should have thanked whatever God he worships that the Japanese finally barked up the wrong tree.......and then even ended up better than they were before....just like Germany....all compliments to America.

This imposter hates America and loves himself.

the pope is an idiot.

A one off massacre actually saves lives in the long run, it did so when King David murdered 2/3 of the enemies he captured and it did so when we used the A bombs.

There is nothing “humane” or godly about drawing out a way for decades that kills millions, that could have been over instantly with only 100’s of thousands dead

The little fokkers had it coming - both nukes. And they've behaved so well ever since. So why all the whining about it now?

Funny how the poofta 'pope' never "prays" for the victims in Nanking - which were more than DOUBLE the deaths of Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined.

Dear pope, have you ever spoken out against the Bataan Death March or the massive wholesale rape and murder Japan committed against China during and prior to WWII, the numbers of which dwarf the deaths at the two bomb sites?

And this is the point most people don't get. An invasion would have killed more Japanese than the bombings, and completely shredded what was left of the country

We had total mastery of the air. Before one soldier put a foot on the Japenese home Islands we would have systematically destroyed every Japanese city with high explosive bombs and fire bombings. We had already firebombed Tokyo with the loss of about 90,000 civilians. We would have done the same to all cities. Oddly starvation and disease would have killed more than our bombing.

All you need to know about this pope is he is driven by left wing ideology and not faith. Once this is understood all the actions of this pope are clear.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki brought an end to WWII in Asia in 1945!

The alternative would have been an invasion of Japan, with millions killed! And it would have lasted until 1948!

May Harry Truman’s Memory be Eternal! Amen!

Why doesn’t anybody remember or pray for victims of Japanese atrocities earlier in the war?

ROME — Pope Francis prayed Sunday for the victims of the 1945 atomic bombing of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki...

Did he pray for the victims of the Japanese rape of Nangking? The POWs in Bataan, in Changi, and on the Burma Railway?

Thank God for the atom bombs. Best decision made by Truman. Truly a blessing for Japan.

Saved hundreds of thousands of Allied lives... and millions of Japanese lives.
