OLIVE BRANCH: Georgia’s Kemp Aims to Mend Rift With Trump to Defeat Democrats

ATLANTA—Republicans need to set aside past grievances and unite to win the presidential election in November because America cannot withstand four more years with radical Democrats in the White House, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp said Friday.

Kemp spoke at radio talk-show host Erick Erickson’s The Gathering conference on Friday morning in Atlanta, days after former President Donald Trump called fellow Republican Kemp “a bad guy,” “a disloyal guy,” and “a very average governor.” The rift began when Kemp refused Trump’s request to hold a special legislative session to investigate the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.

“With a lot of noise out there, as you can imagine, a lot of distractions, in my opinion, is not what we need to be doing right now in the presidential campaign, or on any campaigns that we’re running in the state of Georgia, to keep our majorities in the House and in the Senate,” Kemp said. “Despite all of that noise, my position has not changed.”

The Georgia Republican is committed to getting Trump back in the White House, he said.

“The thing that bothers me most about the Biden-Harris administration is, they’re picking winners and losers in Washington, D.C.,” Kemp said.

It’s crucial to get conservatives back in office to reform executive branch agencies, the Georgia governor said. The governor is hopeful a Republican president can overhaul the administrative state after the Supreme Court’s overturning of the 40-year-old Chevron doctrine, which had the effect of increasing the scope and power of unelected bureaucrats.

I was watching Hannity last night.

We had Lindsay Graham on. Graham had met with Kemp and a several other senior Ga Republicans the night before. They were also doing a fundraiser for Senate GOP candidates.

Graham said that Kemp was on board with getting Trump the win in Georgia.

That’s all they really said.

Think of the unintentional consequences that Kemp created. We have the war in the Ukraine. We have October 7 in Israel. And we have the Iranians all monied up and armed up. We have 8 to 10,000,000 illegals inside the country that didn’t have to be here. All the people that have died from fentanyl overdoses. Because Kemp couldn’t do the right thing. The right thing is be a man!

Bullshit. Show me a single time that they’ve been gracious to Trump. It’s always an expectation that Trump has to be solicitous and gracious to them. Camp is directly responsible for a big part of the elections steal. I haven’t seen him take a direct straightforward act to support Trump. What olive branch is he offered Trump?

Kemp may want to mend the rift but he will still keep Georgia’s Voting Irregularities System pumping out phoney Democrat votes.
Georgia’s Republicans are Democrats in Republican jackets.

“Good. Kemp is putting principles ahead of butt-hurt”

You mean the guy that just got back from getting his instructions in Davos?

Georgia has changed over the past decade.... so its doubtful he is up 5 or 6 points. Build bridges with like minded folks (even if not always 100% in lockstep). Dems rarely argue once they decide on a direction. Everyone paddles in lock step always with the medias help. Trump could take a pointer in that area (and even if Trump won GA in ‘20 he wouldn’t have won the election and that’s even with Arizona). You don’t have to always agree to work together to defeat a common enemy with whom you almost never agree.

He can be enthusiastic and yell MAGA! but under his Republican costume beats the heart of a true Georgia Democrat with Democrat ideas on vote counting and manufacture.

If you trust Kemp then you probably have a brand new title to the Brooklyn Bridge in your filing cabinet.

He knows he’s gonna need a pardon when the investigations show him knee deep in the voter fraud.

Camp it’s not like modern folk, he’s a globalist WEF Chinese speaking Chinese deal making elections stealing fake. And I haven’t seen him do a single thing to make amends with Trump. All I see is him speaking vaguely about the Republican ticket, and having friends of his say that he would actually support Trump. He needs to do some big bridge building. He hasn’t even tried

Arizona doesn’t matter. With Maricopa County’s vote factory in full operation it is foregone.

Let’s just get Trump across the finish line. RINOs, suburban single women, black women. We need as many as possible.

Who is running for President right now and needs all the support he can get? I didn’t realize Brian Kemp was running. I don’t know why many on here are so intent on winning every disagreement. The past is the past all that matters is November. Don’t go out of your way to alienate logical supporters. Win the damn game! Then do what you need to do. But hard to do it as a self righteous loser who will probably be facing prison if he loses.

Kemp might want to have a heart-to-heart with his butt buddy Ratzenberger.

My guess is that Kemp and others got a barrage of phone calls and text messages from their constituents after Trump’s recent rally speech in Georgia.

I’ve never heard him be so negative toward a fellow Republican, and he did it calmly and rationally, although he was clearly angry, which makes it even more powerful.

Kemp will say anything to look good to Republicans but he will still allow the vote count to be restructured for the Camel.

I feel very strongly that Kemp has to be made an example of. Guys like Kemp, Chris Christie and Mitt Romney need to be treated like the back stabbing low life that they are.
