Larry Hogan: ‘I Was Personally Insulted’ by Trump Attacking Harris on Race

Former Maryland Gov. and U.S. Senate candidate Larry Hogan (R-MD) said Thursday on FNC’s “Your World” that he was “personally insulted” by former President Donald Trump’s comments about the race of Vice President Kamala Harris.

Hogan said, “I just really think we’ve got to focus on the issues and kind of avoid all of this gender-race kind of wild attacks. On the issues, there are clear differences between the candidates, and that is what they should focus on. I don’t think it is helpful to be shrinking the tent and alienating swing voters and turning people off. We can’t just keep playing to the base and expect to keep winning elections.

Host Neil Cavuto asked,”It is one thing to go after Kamala Harris and whether she’s black but the bigger concern for some in your party, maybe yourself as well, is when he attacks a popular Georgia governor.”

Hogan wants o keep voters from seeing the real issue, which is:

Harris is already selecting for her support staff the most radical, ant-American, ant-Constitutional government she can find.

Is Hogan equally personally insulted that Trump’s national origin has been ridiculed for what, 12 years now? Since when is ‘Orange man’ NOT a racial slur for white men, especially those of Scottish ancestry? (known for their high incidence of red hair) ?? How about when Trump’s been called a ‘nazi’ - a racial slur for white men, especially those with German ancestry? Bueller? Bueller?

Harris, who is most certainly not from the southern states, panders to audiences in the North and Midwest by adopting a very bad rendition of a Southern drawl - which is not used by anyone in California, or Canada or India or Jamaica. That’s personally insulting to every black (and white) raised in the South. There are as many blacks in the northern and midwest states as in the south, each with their own signature dialect. But Harris doesn’t put any effort into learning them. Why isn’t Hogan personally insulted over Harris’ blatant cultural appropriation of a Southern identity?

So he can try to sell himself to the voters that even though he’s Republican he has his own issues with Trump?

Yes. He's trying to sell to his voters that he's a "Liberal". So it's a smart move for him to attack Trump.
