The leaders of Qatar, Egypt, and the US on Thursday issued a joint statement in which they called on Israel and Hamas to resume urgent talks on August 15, either in Doha or Cairo, to bridge all remaining gaps in the proposed hostage release and ceasefire agreement and start implementing it without any delay.
"It is the time to conclude a ceasefire agreement and release hostages and prisoners," the statement added.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said in response to the statement, "Following the proposal of the United States and the mediators, Israel will send on August 15 its negotiations team to a place to be determined, to finalize the details for the implementation of the framework of the Gaza hostage deal."
The Hostages and Missing Families Forum responded to the joint statement and said, “On behalf of the hostages' families, we support and express our deepest gratitude to US President Joe Biden, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for their unwavering commitment to securing the release of 115 hostages.”
“For 308 days, these hostages – including men, women, children, and the elderly – have endured captivity hell. Every moment there endangers their lives. This recent statement re-affirms what we've long known: a deal is the only path to bring all hostages home. Time is running out. The hostages have no more time to spare. A deal must be signed now!”

Nope. No deal until Hamas is dead. All of them.
It’s past time for a cease fire.
the US wants a cease fire so it can help them in the election, they could give a rats behind about the hostages or anyone else..they just want a talking point for the election..ya know when there will be a cease fire, when ALL of Hamas is dead, PERIOD..til then pound sand
Few mention the fact that this phase was supposed to be where refugees are accepted into Egypt and Jordan. They backed out because they figured out immigrants cause cost and social unrest.
So the poor, downtrodden Gaza people who vote in an election to have Hamas lead them in their government, are now waiting for somebody to take care of them.
Like the “Palestinians” have been “refugees” since 1948. And all the other Arab states do not want them. One man was quoted as saying “They’re bums like you Americans’ welfare users. We don’t want them here.”
Sort of like Chevy Chase’s in law Cousin Eddie who has been out of work for years and years, waiting for an executive position.
Past time for Hamass to give it all up.
^This is the real reason.^
The mussies will not keep the deal. Israel has seen it happen too often.

“From the Jordan to the Med, all hama-ss should be dead!”
They especially want a deal BEFORE the convention otherwise you are gonna have the pro hamas base show up and set the whole place on fire..so they want something done so that they calm down and worship Harris’s butt hole..after all this is the same Harris who in private told these same pro hamas goons that she will do an arms embargo on Israel if she wins..her campaign of course denied it, but she never denied it
Both of them are antisemitic. Watch that video, the guy explains a lot.
As the new Hamas chief, he can be inaugurated on the gallows, as soon as the Knesset reinstates the death penalty (they did it for Eichmann, and Oct. 7 was the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust).
Hmmm... So that HAMAS can re-arm themselves and then continue fighting.
Nope! The Israeli’s should kill HAMAS’s new leader, then then the next one, and the next one and so on and so forth... When HAMAS dissolves into nothingness the ceasefire will begin.
Hamas is still fighting, so there’s no ceasefire possible.
When they quit their evil Occupation of gaza a ceasefire won’t be necessary.
So all this talk about a ceasefire is just more political campaign bull bunk krapo
The massacre at Kfar Etzion in 1948 might be called worse, because it was done by the Arab League, under the supervision of British Officers. It was terrible, maybe worse, qualitatively, but quantitatively October 7 was worse.
They can have peace this afternoon. All they have to do is surrender and walk out with their hands up with a white flag. Guaranteed the shooting with stock, and relief supplies would be moving in. Hamas wants to continue their war. I believe there was a cease-fire in effect on October 7.
Leading from the rear again.
Democrats are to foreign policy what acid is to the human body.
“The Iran hostages and their families suffered every indignity imaginable, not just at the hands of their Iranian captors, but from our own bureaucracy. Among other things, State cut off their health insurance and employee benefits on the grounds that they were AWOL, while in captivity! (Thankfully, that appalling decision was quickly reversed under scathing public criticism.)”
“Compensation legislation enacted by Congress in December 2015 provided for $220 million to be paid to surviving hostages, spouses and children. Because the payments must be funded by successful claims against foreign governments, only a fraction of the promised compensation has been paid.
“If nothing changes, the compensation will not be fully paid until 2039 at the earliest—by which point none of the hostages and their spouses are likely to still be alive.”

A ceasefire? So Hamas has the opportunity to rearm, move the hostages (if there are any left alive), and make new terrorist connection? Yeah, dream on.
Why would Hamas want to end it?
