Study finds major Earth systems likely on track to collapse: 5 things to know
The Hill ^ | Saul Elbein

Four key pillars of the global climate are melting in the heat trapped by rising fossil fuel emissions, a new study has found.

The relatively stable climate that nurtured human civilization depends in large part on these structures: the ice sheets of Greenland and West Antarctica, the Amazon rainforest and the Atlantic currents that warm Europe.

Under current policies, the world faces a scenario in which those pillars have roughly even odds of either surviving or collapsing during the next three centuries, according to results published Thursday in Nature Communications.

The scientists warned that if the pillars are fatally undermined by heat, the resulting damage could prove impossible to undo — even if temperatures are successfully brought down later in the 21st century.

Even so, the long timeline of those findings makes them, if anything, optimistic relative to other recent ones: They come on the heels of a string of disturbing studies about key global systems like the conveyor-belt Atlantic current that keeps Europe temperate, or the West Antarctic Ice Sheet that keeps global sea levels stable.

Even odds, which means it will or it won’t, and neither is more likely than the other.

We are currently at a dangerously low atmospheric CO2 level. Normal levels saw much more vegetation and thriving species all over the planet.

When a moron talks about fossil fuels, I like to ask them if dinosaurs lived thousands of feet below the surface in the arctic and if that showed a warmer planet existed and thrived in the past.

They cannot have it both ways. It is either a fossil fuel or a naturally occurring hydrocarbon. Higher CO2 and global warming is either a good thing or a bad thing.

Want to send a leftist into orbit? Tell them you just don't care about climate change. They get reflexively enraged like you are violating a canon of their religion. They go into absolute madness. It's kind of sick.

They could really care less about the future of humanity, really. They want to exterminate political enemies, exterminate nonvegans, exterminate the unborn, exterminate white men. The outrage os over you're lack of compliance to power and the state. That you won't agree to be a serf. SIMPs and men hating lesbians feel so powerless and this is one of their cadre of canards they love to use on conservatives.

Yet another Watermelon “Could” story.... Monkeys “Could” fly out your ass.
At least they’re smart enough to make disproving it impossible.

“I feel sorry for the Obamas. Their two oceanfront mansions will be underwater soon.”

The one at Martha’s Vineyard is well above sea level. Where is the second?

Max out the credit cards and party like it’s 1999!

I knew someone who did exactly that coming up on Y2K. She also borrowed heavily against her equity in her house.

She said the records would all be lost. You should have seen the look on her face when I asked her if she really thought the credit card companies and banks were stupid enough to not keep backup records of balances going into the year 2000. She filed for bankruptcy before 2000 ended.

Unfortunately, we don’t control the world and all of its complex systems. It is stupid and foolish to think that we can and will only end up hurting ourselves.

Beware of any estimates on fixing that retaining wall. The bigger the company, the more they rip you off. I have a small (3 1/2 x 7) half-bath that needs the floor repaired and the toilet and sink reinstalled. Before I let them go, one company charged me $2,000 just to remove the upper layer of flooring, take out the toilet and sink cabinet, and bring in a fan for three days to dry it out.

Then another company gave me a $6,500 estimate to finish the job. Someone recommended a well-respected, in-demand independent guy and his estimate was $1,250 max, including painting.

The Oahu house has a high seawall. He should be ok for the next century.

A new study...

I'm going to conduct a new study... give me a couple seconds...

. . . Okay, done.

My study finds that the study above is full of holes and full of 'chit'.

Carry on.

Five things to know:

1. The sky isn't falling.

2. The earth will outlive and survive humanity.

3. Global warming is largely the earth correcting itself from the last ice age.

4. Carbon tax is a phony money grab by left wing politicians, looking to enrich their already rich friends.

5. The gig is up, and people are catching on to this phony climate wokeness.

For the last 50+ years the "scientists" have been making predictions for 5 years ahead, then new ones when those didn't happen.

Now they've upped it to 300 years!

This should shake the taxpayer tree to enrich the greedy cultists for a LONG time.

Here is an older study:

"All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made"

John 1:3

"For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

And he is before all things, and by him all things consist."

Col 1:16-17

[[Four key pillars of the global climate are melting in the heat trapped by rising fossil fuel emissions,]]

Yeah by golly, because, you know, we are almost all the way up to 1/4 of what atmospheric CO2 has been in the past when life flourished!
