Freedom Caucus Chairman Bob Good (R-VA) suffered defeat in the recount for his June primary, making him the first House Republican incumbent to lose a primary challenge this election cycle.

Good lost the recount to John McGuire, a former Navy SEAL, who won the primary by just 374 votes. The recount, which began Thursday morning, narrowed the race by just four votes with Good losing by 370.

Dang. They traded a Freedom Caucus member for a Kevin McCarthy protege?

This hits right in the gut. The GOP Establishment Empire strikes back; hard.

Wasn’t Good only one of 8 who had the guts to oust McCarthy back during the Speaker fights?

I guess that makes sense. Still seems though that if Trump wins in November this guy might be the first to go Brutus.

Why did McGuire have so much McCarthy money?

I think Trump ends up regretting many of his endorsements.

Ah, yet another “Concern Troll For Harris”.

Why don’t you go back to lurking? Or find a forum more in line with your progressivism?

Were there any meaningful differences in the policy bent of these candidates? Enough to be worth a circular firing squad?

Politicians and diapers need regular changing, for the same reason.

The GOP establishment wins again.

Trump supported Kevin McCarthy for Speaker of the House.

Bob Good (R-VW) and Matt Rosendale (R-MT) were key votes in ousting Kevin McCarthy.

Trump endorsed Bob Good and Matt Rosendale’s opponents. I expect the winners to have a less conservative voting record.

Ha ha. Bob Good represents the 5th District of the Commonwealth of Virginia, not the state of West Virginia.
