Washington Post columnist Karen Attiah is stepping down as co-chair of the upcoming National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) convention in Chicago, she announced in a Tuesday tweet.
The NABJ24 convention will host Trump for a moderated Q&A session hosted by Fox News’ Harris Faulkner, ABC News’ Rachel Scott and Semafor’s Kadia Goba, according to a report.
“To the journalists interviewing Trump, I wish them the best of luck,” she wrote on Twitter. “For everyone else, I’m looking forward to meeting and reconnecting with all of you in the Windy City.”
She also noted that she was not involved in the decision making process that led to the Trump Q&A.
“While my decision was influenced by a variety of factors, I was not involved or consulted with in any way with the decision to platform Trump in such a format,” she wrote.
The Daily Caller contacted Attiah for comment but did not hear back by time of publication.
I gather her feelings were hurt that Biden wasn’t invited, nor that they hadn’t rushed to bring Harris?
She was probably threatened by Kamaltoe and the DNC
Taking her ball and going home in a huff?
We mustn't "platform" Trump says the Washington Post "columnist" Karen Attiah.
Fake journalist outraged
In addition to appearing before the National Association of Black Journalists, will Trump be appearing before the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, the Native American Journalists Association, or the Asian American Journalists Association?
We know that Trump will not be appearing before the National Association of White American Journalists, because no such association exists (or would be allowed to).
She is stepping down because they are interviewing Trump?
They would rather blindly support a pro-Slavery Harris (see where she kept people locked up after sentences completed for cheap labor in California) than at least listen to the opposition?
Has this woman listed the things the the Biden/Harris administration has done for Black People and feel threated that Trump might remove these things? Has she interviewed Trump to see what threat he is to Black people? Has she questioned if Black people have ‘thrived’ under 4 years of Harris/Biden as compared to Trump? Is she afraid of these topics coming up and having to deal with answers that don’t match her choices of candidates?
I don’t think this is a ‘protest’ resignation, it’s a ‘fear’ of having to come to terms with past political choices and support that have not benefited the people they promised.
Newspaper Columnist that’s against free speech..................film at eleven.............
People need to realize Israel/ Gaza is not just a "one issue" thing. Or just a foreign policy issue.
It encompasses a multitude of litmus tests for America around free speech, journalist freedom, American militarism, policing, protest, foreign interference, and yes, racism.— Karen Attiah (@KarenAttiah) July 24, 2024
Yup, she's sure living that free speech, journalist freedom ideal by resigning because President Trump is getting interviewed.
The plantation is tough to leave.
Virtual stompy-foot tantrum. :-)
Black females......a monolithic group within a monolithic group.
I know how this is gonna sound but I don’t care because I’ve seen it 1st hand on many occasions and it’s an accurate observation......many blacks in this country place their race above everything........and I mean EVERYTHING.
They were actually invited. Kamala declined due to scheduling issues.
Kamal isn’t going, hmmm
Party over race…
Well, that’s odd. Didn’t Biden didn’t say he would be on the road to campaign for her as well? Couldn’t they have sent him? It’s not like he’s doing much now. It seems like he’s literally making one public appearance a week.
He was in Vegas, got Covid, disappeared for about a week, showed up to give his address to the nation as to why he dropped out, but never said why, went back into hiding, was seen going to camp David, came out of hiding, gave a quick speech about SCOTUS and went back back into hiding again.
Go Trump!
