A nine-year-old girl has become the third child to die after the Southport stabbings, Merseyside Police say.
More now from Merseyside Police, who say the two victims who died in the attack yesterday were girls aged six and seven.
As we've just reported, a third girl, aged nine, died from her injuries in the early hours of this morning.
This is the first time police have confirmed the victims' genders. Until this point, we knew only that they were children.
Eight other children were stabbed in the attack, police say. Five of the children and two adults remain in a critical condition.

I’ve seen his name posted … it’s Ali Al-(something). He’s supposedly Syrian. The “parents” arrived here some time ago, but there’s some dispute about the boy and originally he was thought to be in a shelter in Cardiff. I was wondering if possibly the UK government is trying to distribute these people as foster children or wards among the existing Muslim immigrant population.
The problem is that suddenly all mention is being erased and that the press is not even allowed to mention anything about it now. Like it never happened. Except for three dead little girls at a dance class.

According to the police that name is incorrect. They also say he was born in Cardiff, Wales, to Rwandan parents.

In a just world, the “boy” (can I say that about a 17 year old?) would, if convicted in a fair trial, be tied down in a closed room, and every parent of a stabbed child be given a knife and be placed in said room with him.

Rwanda, not Syria. Rwanda is only 2% Muslim, so jihadist assumptions almost certainly false. Parents high earners, lived in their own large house in Cardiff.
