After being asked to leave Stab's Tuesday for a confusing dress code violation at Stab's Prime Steak and Seafood and posting about it on Facebook, Y'Mine McClanahan's post has taken a new turn.
Late Wednesday evening, she posted a statement on her personal Facebook page from the NAACP Baton Rouge Branch addressing her experience at Stab's Prime Steak and Seafood where she was asked to leave because of her attire which, many argue, was less "revealing" than the restaurant's wait staff's attire. McClanahan is the vice president of the Baton Rouge Branch of NAACP.

🤢. 🤮
I just ate there last week….Commanders
Wifey wore her slinky black whatever silky fabric that is spaghetti strap dress and there’s a whole story on that
But while I wore a Peter Millar hopsack blazer and black jeans with buttoned knit black shirt
Basically wise guy casual
Main room downstairs corner table perfect
I did notice a couple guys jacketless
I’m 67 now and grew up two hours north of there and it was our “city”
In the old days they had green masters looking jackets they would give u to wear if you showed up jacketless
Antoine’s
Arnauds
Galatoires
Broussards
Caribbean Room
T’Pitaris
Tujagues
Miriam’s
Brendan’s brunch
They all did it then but now mainly only galatoires and commanders do it I think
Antoine’s didn’t last year
Most old line joints there request business casual now except CP and Galatoires
I ate at commanders during Covid with my LA buddy who made a movie there 6-7 years ago and knows Lally Brennan fairly well
She put our party in a private garden room and told us no worries on jackets since we had none
I think it’s a tradition worth preserving but the old line joints have to compete with the plethora of nouvelle hipster places that blanket Nola now
Lord what a restaurant town
The food last week was excellent btw
A hit nite for sure and pretty booked up for steamy off season
My wife loves New Orleans
She’s a Nashville girl
I will admit standing in line for Sunday brunch in July on bourbon st for galatoires is for warriors lol
I don’t know if Lillettes on Magazine has dress code
It’s fancy and $$$$
No shoes, no shirt, no service, screw the naacp for want to have a meeting.
The top worn by the co-owner in the picture is technically a tank top, so she is in violation of her own dress code.
That said, the customer’s top is clearly a tube top, and it is sheer enough to show her nipples. The outfit is cute, but it belongs at Texas Roadhouse, not an upscale restaurant.
Blacks with Irish names means their forbears were slaves of Irish masters.
Freed slaves took their masters’ names .....they didnt have last names in primitive Africa.
And that’s probably a good thing because I’m not sure what a tye is and wearing a coat and tye and a dress would be a weird look for a man or a woman. LOL!
