It was a s–tshow.
US Park Police were “alone” and “understaffed” while being “assaulted by a mob of thousands” of pro-Hamas rioters in Washington, DC, on Wednesday — some of whom even pelted officers with poop, according to the force’s union chief.
Park Police Fraternal Order of Police chairman Kenneth Spencer told The Post in an interview a day after the unhinged riot that just 29 of his officers had faced down the terrorist-sympathizing mob outside Union Station — which is just blocks from the Capitol.
“We were primarily alone,” said Spencer, a 15-year veteran who revealed that years of “empty promises” to beef up the agency’s shoestring budget have gone unfulfilled by Congress and the Interior Department, which primarily deals with the nation’s rural national parks rather than civil unrest in big cities.
“Especially in the DC area, everybody’s so understaffed just like we are,” he explained. “We have a huge mission. We’re the agency that protects First Amendment rights when people come to visit DC.”

Yeah, thinking the same thing.
They had enough LE for the insurrection that almost toppled democracy and the government. This should have been a cake walk, seeing as these “protestors” were all peaceful Jew hating leftists.
“I don’t guess the FIB will be examining cell phone tracks on this...”
What? You don’t think they tracked all those people across the country, are knocking on doors, and arresting people as we type? I’m sure they are. (jk)
If the Park Police want us to stand up for them they need to stand up for the J6 political prisoners.
Did the park police have anything to do with the harassment and arrests (and continuing imprisonment) of Jan 6th? If so...F them.
I would like to know if these rioters had a permit to assemble on any public property (or private—not sure where they were). The organizers of J6 at the Capitol had permits which are required. Congress/Mayor, etc. knew at least a week in advance these people were goign to assemble at a “First Amendment Event”.
“Did the park police have anything to do with the harassment and arrests (and continuing imprisonment) of Jan 6th? If so...F them.”
It was them.
Not sure if Park Police has jurisdiction over the Capitol grounds. I believe that is the jurisdiction of Capitol Police and possibly also DC Metro police.
Biden armed the Taliban better than the Park Police.
Monkeys throwing poo? Who woulda thunk it?
It is past time to move Departments out of Washington D.C. Anyone who has ever lived there or spent time there knows that it is time wasted to try to do anything to benefit that Hellhole.
Gee, that’s too bad.
The Park Police does have jurisdiction over the Capitol grounds and they were heavily involved in J6.
I am hesitant to give links because they seem to be left wing propaganda on J6.
Here is a neutral one on the duties of the Park Police:

“In 1925, Congress placed the Park Police in the newly created Office of Public Buildings and Public Parks of the National Capital.”
Anarcho-tyranny, violent attacks by left on police; charges dismissed, protestors who questioned election results and may have non-violently trespassed; rotting in prison.
I prefer flamethrowers.
What are they going to do in Chicago during the DNC Convention?
Just can’t imagine HOW many have been arrested. Wonder if we will get any mug shots of people put in prison for 3 years..like the J6 uprising.
That is probably true. My experience is the police departments are very segregated in DC. Park police cover things like Layfette Park across from the WH but that DC police have no jurisdiction there. Park police may Jace had jurisdiction on the outside grounds but Capitol Police likely had jurisdiction over the actual building.
“Park police may have had jurisdiction on the outside grounds but Capitol Police likely had jurisdiction over the actual building.”
That sounds correct.
The Park Police were witnesses to what happened on J6 and they could have stood up and defended the J6 political prisoners but they were intimidated by the fascists who control DC.
Years ago a DC Park policeman told me that they and DC police never arrest people because they are too lazy to do the paperwork. Nothing has changed
