Wray didn't actually mean to say that eight bullets were recovered from the rooftop, did he? (He is a lawyer by trade, and I don't know how much Yale Law School teaches law students about firearms. I'm guessing it's not much, if anything.)

The clearly-visible bullet hole in PDJT's ear is smoothly round, like a bullet. That hole was not made by shrapnel that wasn't earlier also a bullet.

Since the would-be assassin clearly intended to kill PDJT, what could possibly be the useful distinction toward which Wray could be driving, as literally everyone killed by every bomb ever made died as a result of being hit by its shrapnel?
