A new video circulating online shows an alleged attack on the M/V Pumba in the Red Sea using an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) seemingly loaded with explosives.
The USV was subsequently destroyed after Pumba’s embarked armed security team returned fire on the vessel, causing it to explode just off the stern.
Houthis spokesperson claimed the group targeted the Pumba in the Red Sea on July 20, describing the vessel as an “American ship.”
The M/V Pumba is a Liberian-flagged containership. Equasis data shows it is owned by an affiliate of Sea Lead Shipping based in Singapore.

Interesting zig-zag course pattern the drone was taking.
“seemingly”?
Looks like the guards were using L1A1s ... good shooting from several hundred yards ...
Good shooting...
Yemen is predominantly a desert kingdom with only a few major cities to support it.
I wonder why the major powers don’t just carpet bomb those few areas where the Houthi’s live like the Allies did with NAZI Germany?
Naah, big gun not more accurate. Plus, it is near impossible to get such in any ports these hired guns have to use to move from boat to boat as part of their job..
Since they are remote controlled I do wonder why it is difficult to mount a radio jammer on every ship. When a boat-torpedo appears spot the boat and see if the remote control can maintain course.
The zig-zag is ‘cause the remote control is by some Arshole in another boat off to the side controlling it. These blowfish boats do not have cameras on board.
As far as port clearances go, that's what our State Department is allegedly for.
Jamming is not as simple as you think - a watchful deckcrew and a .50 solves everything from Houthi boats to Somali and Indonesian pirates. Easy-peasey: just train a bunch first (or hire former Marines).
Yep. We had twin 50s on the gunboats in Nam. They make easy work of any kind of unarmored craft.
Guess I should have added “or hire riverine sailors” to my list of effective .50 gunners for their ships!
