“That debate was a set-up to convince Democrats that he couldn’t run for president,” a source close to the Biden family told The Post Monday.
Joe Biden was forced to leave the presidential race after high-level Democrats threatened him with the 25th Amendment.
Operatives at the very highest levels of the Democratic Party threatened Joe Biden with forcibly removing him from office unless he stepped down, sources told The Post.
The well-orchestrated “palace coup” to stop the faltering president seeking re-election has been in place for weeks, but stubborn Biden fought against it every step of the way, according to the sources.
Part of the “elaborate” strategy to remove Biden from the race – as he announced in a shock letter posted on X Sunday – was allowing him to debate Republican candidate Donald Trump last month on live TV in Atlanta.
During the car crash 90-minute debate, Biden appeared confused, slack-jawed and at one point he froze up, with his shocking performance turning the tide against him.
Biden is said to have stubbornly fought against the recent calls for him to step down until his shock announcement on Sunday that he will not seek re-election
Although Biden immediately endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate for president, the source said Democratic delegates will be strongly encouraged to instead back Arizona senator and former astronaut Mark Kelly for president at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in August.

Thanks, there are many here who blindly follow Trump, me included (with this one exception). So they figure there must be some “master plan” here by Trump - something that no one here has explained. Now the Dems have a month to straighten out their ticket and run someone viable.

Awfully roundabout, convoluted way of getting him out. Why not just put him up against some serious opponents in the primaries and have real primaries. Instead they make it a coronation, spend millions, raise millions, all just to smack the crown off his senile head and replace him. Have they forgotten how to do anything that isn’t fake?

Ok, a thought just occurred to me. The scuttlebut has been that the left wants to replace Joe and his performance at the debate might be the trigger. What better way to accomplish this than for Tapper and Bash to sabotage Joe? Joe is expecting soft balls and kid gloves. Questions about abortion and J6. What if they turn the tables and hammer him on the economy, immigration, etc? Get him flustered and yelling incoherently? All it would take would be a back-channel communication from Obama’s crew to get this done.

Basically, Biden broke up with America in a tweet and is now ghosting us.
They may well have given him a placebo instead of his go-juice cocktail on debate night.
Nothing illegal or even immoral about “withholding performance-enhancing drugs”.

I truly believe that. His debate performance wasn’t any worse than so many other of his appearances that the Rats said nothing about, but as soon as that debate was over they started piling up on him.
The timing of the debate was also well thought out. They fully expected a poor performance, and wanted a couple of months before he officially got nominated so they could get rid of him.
Trump should have not accepted any debates until after both conventions.
It was all staged and worked like a charm for the Rats.

More charitably, it was a test to see how Biden can perform in a non-scripted event.

First of all we don’t know if any of this is true but even if true - the 25th amendment is constitutional. Not a coup.
Biden should have been removed via 25th amendment long ago. Both sides didn’t want to do it. Dems thought it looked bad politically for them and the Republicans didn’t have the power to do anything about it but even if they did have the power they preferred to run against a damaged President.
Remember that Mark Kelly has links to China and specifically to that spy balloon last year:

If Trump had rejected that one, there wouldn’t have been any.
Never forget that Biden has always been an arrogant “Im smarter than you” bully type person. It may have been a setup, but Biden’s arrogance and ego helped.
Trump said “Anytime, any place” so he pretty much had to do it..but the Biden team was hoping that with the debate being on CNN, with Tapper and Bash, mics cut off, no studio audience, that Trump would have told them to go F themselves that he wont be part of a rigged debate..but instead Trump said within 5 seconds “Okie Dokie” and the Dems didnt see that coming
