During Monday’s House Oversight Committee hearing regarding the U.S. Secret Service, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) urged his congressional colleagues to “find the courage” to ban AR-15 rifles.
He pushed universal background checks and repeated the Democrats’ decades long push to close the so-called gunshow loophole, even though the AR-15 used in the failed Trump assassination was “legally purchased.” (When law enforcement speaks of a gun being purchased “legally” it means a purchaser passed a background check to acquire the firearm at retail.
Nevertheless, Raskin wants more background checks in the wake of the failed assassination attempt.

I’m thinking they had everything ready to go to ban guns right down to the type allegedly used by the shooter, If their plan had worked.
Does he want the “courage” to ban the U.S. Constitution?

Maybe ask Congress to follow the constitution and preempt all federal, state, and local laws that infringe upon the constitution.
Raskin needs to find the courage to leave this country that he hates.
The dad passed the background check, and loaned the gun to the 20-yr old kid.
Would the kid have passed the background check - I think so, he wasn’t on the radar yet.
And how about at the gun ranges he went to. Do they have any kind of check? I know some do, with signed declarations, and maybe even a ‘sponsor’.
I challenge RATSKIN to stop calling himself an American while trampling the U.S. Bill of Rights. He’s a front row “The View” watcher.
How does anyone know that an AR 15 was used?

Going to be hard to ban a semiautomatic rifle that operates exactly like 180 million other non-AR15 rifles already in public possession and sold every day.
If the shooter had used a common deer rifle Trump probably wouldn’t be here now.

I saw it reported that the dad called the cops to say that his son and the rifle were “missing,” on the day of the shooting. I don’t know if “loaned” applies.
The American People ask the Democrat party to find the courage to give up their failed 1960s era racist “gun control” extremism.
I had read earlier that the kid asked to borrow it, to go to the range, I think.
But . . . We can read anything these days. And it will be opposite tomorrow.
Ar-15s are the culprits. They should never be allowed to get close to anybody that could be a target.
Somehow, they get into the hands of innocent people who never intended to cause harm to anybody.
Mass murderers and killers would never have committed their crimes, if those weapons had not sought out the shooters.
Human history shows us that humans are pretty nasty individually and as a group.
This is the sad truth that the left want to ignore -- they think that somehow human nature can be controlled. They are fools.
We can only prevent evil but force, sometimes, and after loss of human life.
We can also learn from history.
