Vice President Harris is racing to lock down support for her White House bid, just hours after President Biden announced that he would no longer seek reelection.
Harris on Sunday spoke with the chairs of three key coalitions on Capitol Hill: Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, Rep. Nanette Barragán (D-Calif.) of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and Rep. Ann McLane Kuster (D-N.H.) of the New Democrat Coalition. All three have backed Harris for the nomination.
She also spoke with Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wis.) — ”She is ready to win in Wisconsin!!!” he said on the social platform X — and Rep. Jared Huffman (D-Calif.) said he heard from her staff.
“Her team is fully activated and phones are ringing, emails are blowing up, this thing is rolling,” Huffman told The Hill in a brief interview Sunday. “This has taken off like a rocket ship.”
Asked what the sentiment of his conversation was, Huffman responded: “Let’s roll.”
The full-court press on Capitol Hill comes as Harris looks to turbocharge her nascent presidential campaign after Biden announced that he would no longer seek the party’s nomination.
Biden was facing mounting pressure from Democrats to reconsider his decision to run amid concerns following his disastrous debate performance last month. The president was at first defiant, consistently saying he would not step aside, but reversed his position on Sunday, quickly endorsing Harris for the job.
“My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made,” Biden said on X. “Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year.”

What a pity Biden didn’t continue. He guaranteed Trump’s reelection.
However, three and a half years ago, Kamala Harris was the least liked democrat candidate for the presidency, by far. What did she get, 1 or 2 % support? A disaster. The Democrats don’t like her.
So.. will there be another Dem candidate? Newsome?
I don’t think they have time for weeks of infighting among themselves to find the best Dem candidate. It’s too late. Thus they will probably bet on Harris, by default. No other choice. If there is another debate she will evidently be 10 times better than Biden. But she needs to be very well prepared if she wants to score a few points against Trump... She has seemed totally unprepared for anything and everything for nearly 4 years now. So rather easy for Trump to win here. Democrats will release their large donations though for Harris. It had been stalled under Biden for obvious reasons.

What you are seeing is the end of an officially enforced MASS DELUSION. This was always almost certain to happen.
Joe Biden has been mentally unfit for his entire administration. And this has been clear to EVERYONE who isn’t compromised. Think of *everyone* who stayed silent. The psychiatrists. The neurologists. The geriatric medicine specialists. The party leaders. The news organizations. The universities. Essentially all the experts. That is why I sound crazy to many of you. But we were right and...somehow...somehow...they were all silent
Perfect!
Bwahahahahahaha! 🌭
The Dems are headed for a train wreck. Already, all of the major Dems who are minorities have endorsed her, while NONE of the major powerbrokers (Schumer, Pelosi, Obama, etc.) have. If they try pulling the rug out from under her three weeks from now there will be a MAJOR rebellion, and if they don’t, she likely loses against Trump.
Over the next month (until the end of the Dem convention), the GOP needs to walk a very fine line. They need to attack Harris enough to keep her numbers from rising but not so much to obliterate her. She needs to be seen as viable enough to the Dem identity groups that the leadership dare not pass her over. Once their convention ends and she is the nominee, it will be time to fully unleash.
She had to drop out of the dem primary race as she has so few votes. Had she stayed in she probably would have had no delegates.
I’ll bet it’s harder than hell to run in those knee pads.
Yes, too many arkancides have happened. It can happen again.
Absolutely true. Something crossed my desk, that said, it is possible that this Crooks guy, was a rogue assassin, who accidentally showed up with the real deep state assassins, and messed them up. Then they had to do a Jack Ruby on him, to shut him up, like they did to Oswald. Usually, I am not much into conspiracy theories, but these days, nothing would surprise me.
Technically a Trump vs Harris race would mean that both candidates have taken shots to the face.

This is insane to me, Democrats have gone through three election cycles where the most popular candidate in the primaries did not get the nomination. Why do they even have primaries?

Hillary is way ahead of the news. She already was scheming to “help” Biden continue as POTUS nominee temporarily (and owing a favor to H), but that idea fizzled when Obama/Pelosi said no.
OUCH!
I need ...
to be ...
in charge...
NOW!
I know this will be a challenge for me, but I'm up to the job.
I wonder if Harris will pick the Hildebeast for VP,
Not if she wants to survive for four years!!!
The first name the article states Kamala is trying to gain support from is, Pramila Jayapal, who is anti Isreal.
Her Jewish husband may or may not be a fan of Netanyahu but in WW2, German and Italian American citizens were willing to kill those from their country of origin
To me, Politicians are more ruthless sell outs than soldiers.
Also my comment was more sarcasm than a claim to any ‘in depth’ knowledge I have on the subject.
Yes, I can see the possibility of arkancide in Harris’ future.
