…According to the Democratic National Committee rules, the party's delegates would still meet as scheduled for a virtual roll call to vote for who they think should be the nominee.
What If Democrats Don't Choose Harris?
Because Harris wouldn't just immediately become the nominee, there's a chance that another candidate is picked.
The Democratic Party's delegates could choose another candidate that they see as giving the party a better chance against Trump in November.
Other high-profile Democrats floated as possibly stronger alternatives to Harris include California Governor Gavin Newsom and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. But they have said that they would not run for the Oval Office in 2024.
What If There's a Contested Convention? There is also a possibility that no candidate wins a majority on the roll call. If this happens, more than 700 "superdelegates" will also vote in a subsequent ballot. The process would continue until a candidate wins a simple majority.
"Superdelegates" consist of the senior party leaders and elected officials who automatically become delegates to the convention based on their positions. They are not allowed to vote on the first ballot, per DNC rules, but can vote on subsequent ballots.

She won't debate at all. She'll just play the "I'm not going to dignify a convicted felon by sharing the stage with him!" card and sidestep it - and then get lauded for her bravery on The View.

Then in order to placate the race issue they will pick a black male running mate.

Hmmm…this doesn’t sound like “democracy” to me.
14 million people voted for Biden.
Why doesn’t the DNC mail Scantron paper ballots to those 14 million with a dozen alternative candidates from which they can choose?
Dim president is mostly a virtual Job,anyhow.

Or did they say they won’t run against Biden? What states are clamoring to become California or Michigan or Illinois? Sure, Newsome will get the “he has nice hair” women’s vote and Witless would get the” she’s a woman and I’m a woman” women’s vote. Who wants that fatso in Illinois outside of the major cities?
If it is Kamala, there needs to be a guerilla campaign exposing her “methods” of getting where she did by fornicating with powerful politically connected married men. “Listen up girls and mothers. Your little girl can be as successful as Kamala if she hassex with powerful men.”
Biden getting out of the race was problem #1. Problem #2 is finding somebody that actually WANTS TO TRY to take on Trump. Everyone knows how popular he is - it’s almost a call for ‘who wants to lose’?
Before the assassination attempt, it might have been different. Not now.

Give me a break. Biden DIDN’T EVEN KNOW ABOUT HIS CAMPAIGN WITHDRAWAL LETTER until AFTER it was released.
I think it’s about $90 million. KH can get it-no other single candidate. The DNC can get it to use at the state/local level. It can be used to create an issue based superPAC. Other than KH, a candidate would be starting from scratch.
