The West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin has argued for the Democratic Party to nominate a Republican as their presidential candidate in a bid to beat Donald Trump.
In recent weeks, calls for incumbent president Joe Biden to step down have grown ever louder, amid concerns over the president’s health and cognitive abilities.
Current polling suggests that Trump, who was beaten by Biden in 2020 after serving one controversy-laden term in the Oval Office, is on course to win a second term this November.
In an essay published by The New York Times, Sorkin drew parallels between real-world events and his acclaimed TV series, which focused on the goings-on at the White House during the administration of Democrat Jed Bartlet (Martin Sheen).

We’d have had Bartlet drop out of the race and endorse whoever had the best chance of beating the guy.

Desperation. All they really need to do is to articulate their brilliant policy ideas, and then present the person whom they would have execute them. Biden has already proven himself to be that guy, except for the articulation bit. They could get other people to do that. America will love it.

This is not their dumbest idea. Mittens is RINO enough to be Dem-lite. While he might be easier for them to live with, he is despised by the right, and has already lost one presidential race. Hillary Clinton has more experience losing, but I understand she isn’t pleasant to be around.

Honestly if the democrats were like Romney and GOP like Trump our Nation would be in much better shape as there would be no woke crap going on...the discussion would be more about best policies and we know the Right will win on that.
