Washington. CNN — No one quite knows what the process of picking a new nominee would be if Joe Biden did step aside – but many Democrats say that any process is likelier than ever to quickly end with Vice President Kamala Harris as the nominee.
The informal conversations about how a fight to replace Biden at the top of the ticket would play out have been raging for weeks behind the scenes. But uncertainty about the process has been so unclear it’s given multiple Democrats – even those with serious concerns about Biden – pause about coming out against the president’s candidacy, given that what comes next could be even messier.
“F**k it, I’m coconut pilled. I just want this to stop,” said one well-known Democratic operative, referring to the online meme that has taken off from an old video of the vice president telling a story of her mother saying, “You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?”
It’s not that everyone has suddenly coalesced – but exhaustion is gelling into consensus.

What if it was some celebrity? What if Taylor threw her hat in the ring.... for God and country in this troubling time for the Dems.

They even derive great pleasure from being crazy because it gives their empty lives meaning to belong to the bat-guano club (aka, the Democrat Party). They may say to themselves, "Yes, we are insane, but we are the Elites. And it is better to be a bat-guano Elite than a sane Deplorable."
Bat-guano people would naturally support a bat-guano person like Kamala.

Biden has $92 million to spend on his reelection. The lines have already been drawn. He doesn’t need donor money. He can just go back down into the basement until November. People who voted for Trump in 2020 aren’t changing their votes. Biden has to worry about keeping his voting base aligned and that is easy.
I wonder how many people would take a Taylor Swift candidacy seriously.

Whenever it occurs, I think Biden’s state funeral will have a very different look than the funerals of past Presidents. Sort of an “empty streets” look. The number of viewers of the funeral broadcast will be record low. And then the historians (the honest ones, anyway) will have at him.
Lies are fragile. Truth is durable.

The mob brawl going on inside the venue where the Democrat (Socialist) National Convention meets will be almost nothing compared to the protest mob that will be gathered outside the doors and all up and down the street.
Compared to the 1968 DNC in Chicago, it poses to be a real barn-burner. The Democrat (Socialists) will have no way to put a good face on any of it.
