The one thing Trump barely mentioned says it all

The one thing Trump barely mentioned says it all

It’s been decades since the contrast between the parties has been so great.

Milwaukee, Wis. — Former President Donald Trump only named his campaign opponent a single time during his Thursday-night nomination acceptance speech. In fact, President Joe Biden barely appeared at all in any of the dozen-plus speeches given on the final night of the Republican National Convention.

The decision makes sense on the surface. Trump might not even be running against Biden in November. In the hours before Trump spoke, rumors swirled about the president’s imminent withdrawal as the Biden and Obama camps shot anonymous quotes and “confirmed” plans back and forth through reporters.

But the decision reveals something deeper, too. Can you imagine Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris or Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) giving an hour-plus speech with hardly a mention of Donald Trump? Or even a six-minute talk? In case anyone missed it, Biden canceled his Monday address commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act out of respect for the deadly assassination attempt on Trump. If he couldn’t use the occasion to bash Donald Trump, it wasn’t even worth the event. Some commemoration.

Even aside from being unable to keep Trump’s name out of his mouth, Joe Biden would struggle to articulate a platform or a plan for the next four years that wasn’t largely focused on reacting against the opposition. It’s easy for a party in opposition to fall into this sort of rut, but a serious failure for the party in power to do so. Today, they have little to offer besides attacks.

Compare that to the Republican Party. I watched the 2012 and 2016 Republican conventions tucked into the shadows of the nosebleeds with Tucker Carlson and other Daily Caller staff. You’d hear occasional applause and a few laughs, but there was no chance he would have accepted an offer to speak on the main stage. And the change wasn’t in Tucker, who in the years since has somehow become even less willing to do things he doesn’t want to do.

The change is in the Republican Party, and it is apparent in the elevation of one of the very few senators who actually believes (and legislates) the populist-conservative agenda. The Grand Old Party has become the party of ideas. And that’s a good thing.

That doesn’t mean it will stick. Gov. Ronald Reagan forced a conservative takeover of the party in 1980. The day his vice president succeeded him in office was nicknamed “the night of long knives” for the number of conservative staff dismissed from their jobs. For the next three dozen years, the party would cling to power, counting on conservative votes and using Reagan’s name in every speech — but following a very different policy.

The selection of Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) is a strong guard against this but no sure thing. The coming battle is a battle of ideas. The Republican Party of Trump and Vance is winning right now. But it will be a hard fight to come.

Because he know Biden has only done a fraction of the damage. It’s the whole demonic entourage behind him that are the true operation.

It’s not a battle of ideas. It is ideas on one side, and corrupt self-interest on the other side covered up with a lot of name calling and RINO cowardice and lust for easy living.

When one is confident in one’s own policy and philosophy, one can promote on its own merits; one need not even mention the opposition.

The Democrats are beginning to realize that it’s going to take more than the fact that their candidate isn’t DJT to win. The voters aren’t all suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome, and its utility is definitely waning now.

This is news to me. So, Bush takes over and fires Reagan’s conservatives.

Bingo. It's we the conservative voters vs. snakes.

I didn't know about that. What happened to "lesser of two evils", circular firing squad e.t.c?

Biden’s personality does not do well with being marginalized. If he even knows, at this point.

The coming battle is a battle of ideas.

The author is entertaining himself. The only “ideas" on the Left are Chinese cynicism about duping the American voter. There is no “idea" in sterilizing American children through sexual mutilation. There is no ”idea" in bitch-slapping American women from the swimmers’ podium.

All of the ideas are from Trump in reshaping the Republican Party and American politics.

That is why the Democrat Party attempted to assassinate Trump, they have nothing but anger and venom and zero accomplishments to run on.

The watch my lying lips tax increase was needed to get the new global agnda off the ground. Forever war is a lot more expensive than forever peace.

Yeah, but there was plenty of him in the video leading up to PDJT appearing. We laughed out loud at a couple of scenes. I hope he stays in just so we can watch JD vs comealla debate.

“Biden’s personality does not do well with being marginalized.”

That’s what I thought, too. Could there be a bigger insult to Biden than NOT even having his name mentioned? That has to infuriate him and really get under his skin, especially because all Biden can say over and over and over is TRUMP, TRUMP, TRUMP, TRUMP, TRUMP and more TRUMP.

Biden will not be the Democrats candidate and his dementia on parade performance at the debate with Trump sealed his fate. However, the Democrats have a even bigger problem …who do they run instead of senile Joe? Their choices are all terrible and starting run a campaign with a new candidate a few short months before the election would be daunting even if they found a rock star. Whoever they run the only thing they can say is the tired mantra of orange man bad. Trump’s fist in the air with his bloodied face in defiance of a near assassination pretty much ends that mantra.

No J6 shout out, no pro life, no 2nd a defense, no defense of true marriage.

It may be strategic or whatever but as a social conservative I noticed.

The dominoes are all falling, Schiff and now Schumer and Jeffries are calling for Joe to get out of the race. Not because he’s senile and shouldn’t be in charge of the country, but because his poll numbers are horrible and might lead to defeat for the Democrats. Their one and only concern is maintaining power, there is no concern for the good of the country. And we should vote for them again why?

I posted this the other day in Facebook, knowing full well my leftist relatives would see it and barrage me with TDS replies. I got nothing but crickets back, remarkable.

The coming battle is a battle of ideas.

I can't agree with that statement. It's not a battle of ideas no matter how much I wish it would be, it's a battle between those who want the best for America and those who are consumed with hate for God and all things good and decent.
