The U.S. Secret Service said Wednesday that it stood by its female agents and was appalled by some of the criticism they’ve received on conservative social media since Saturday’s attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
The Secret Service, in a statement to NBC News, said that the criticism from pundits and influencers was baseless. The agency also stood by its commitment to diversity in recruiting as helping, not hurting, the effectiveness of its protective teams.
The statement follows a multiday campaign of derision by some conservatives who accused Kimberly Cheatle, the Secret Service director, of being unqualified and who said that female agents assigned to Trump hadn’t been physically capable of protecting him. Some critics said the Secret Service should return to being all-male, which it hasn’t been since 1970.

The Lord only knows why he took one patriot home in that assassination attempt. My sincere condolences to the man’s family and loved ones.

Question is, did she fail badly because there was a successful assassination "attempt"...or because it failed to assassinate?

It isn’t so much as a female issue but the physical. A short slight built weak little man couldn’t do much better. Does the military still have height requirements? Don’t they have to pass physical tests or have they totally eliminated that?

Attempted misdirection on the part of the Secret Service. The focus should be on why the principal nearly got killed, not on the feelings of the team. They had one job.
They allowed him to shoot before taking him out even though they had more than amble opportunity.
I also predict that they will try again. This is not a one off. If at first you do not succeed, try, try again with be their battle cry.
Furthermore, it wouldn't surprise me at all to learn that the GOPe Republican RINOs were also involved in the attempt to assassinate Trump.
Yep, there were teams of assassins following Kennedy. One team was in Chicago, another in Tampa. It all came together in Dallas.
