ays after the attempted assassination of Donald Trump during a rally in Butler, Pa., supporters have been showing their solidarity by wearing bandages on their ears.
A gunman opened fire at Trump's rally Saturday, injuring the former president on his right ear and killing Corey Comperatore, 50. Two others were injured: David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74, both of whom are now in stable condition. Investigators are still working to uncover a motive for the shooting.
Trump's former doctor, Rep. Ronny Jackson of Texas, said he personally examined Trump's wound, and told the New York Times, "The bullet took a little bit off the top of his ear in an area that, just by nature, bleeds like crazy."
On the second night of the convention, delegates and attendees were photographed wearing makeshift "bandages" — from folded-up slips of paper to pieces of tape — on their right ears to showcase their solidarity with Trump.
Arizona delegate Joe Neglia was one of the first people photographed wearing the ear bandage during the second night of the convention. Neglia told CBS News he folded up an envelope "on the bus on the way here" to wear on his right ear.
“This is the newest fashion trend. I’m getting this going. Everybody in the world is going to be wearing these pretty soon," Neglia said.

Here’s the link. My apologies - David Brody just inquired about it, but Brian and Terrence responded.
It’s at about the 2:59 mark.

Never heard of them.
Have you ever been to a political convention? I have. In 2012 as a delegate. The Tea Party won a lot of seats in 2010 and some women were wearing tea bags as earrings. It was funny.
Conventions are like carnivals.
LOL! I read the headline and I first thought of Van Gogh!
I was denied to watch
Don’t sweat it, Judy. The ‘event’ happened only four or five days ago. Many people are still shaken by it, and quick to react to things in an emotional manner. Most Canadians I used to know back in Michigan were great people in their own way.
No, I haven’t, although I would have loved it, I’m sure.
I think my aversion to this bandage thing is deeper. I really would like (although it’s probably not possible) all of the “spiking the football” (for lack of a better description) that’s going on to cool down.
When I hear everyone talking about how they couldn’t take him out, how God protected him, how he was shot at but got up and fought, etc. it makes me nervous. Don’t get me wrong, I agree with all of it. I just fear some lunatic (and there’s plenty of them) listening to this and getting more and more angry, and more and more determined to complete the job, if you know what I mean.
To an evil person, it’s almost like a dare. It makes me nervous and I think the Rs are doing such a splendid job with this convention, focusing on the real problems. That dear lady whose son was knifed to death in NY because of Alvin Bragg made me cry, as did the dear lady who lost her oldest boy to fentynol. So many good speakers. So many quality stories. It’s been a wonderful convention.
Oh, and I love Vance as well! I like all of the hats and buttons and the tea bags would be funny as heck. I guess maybe I just feel like the ear bandage is a little on the dark side, maybe a little too soon? I could be wrong.
Lol why thank you, lee.
Not sure what “in their own way” means, but I’ll take it!
Oh sorry - you may have to have a GETTR account.
Can’t go through life worrying about the loonies (unless your saving Canadian money). :-)
But be vigilant!
Regards.
Truth be told, lee, I’ve been so darned fearful of this for YEARS. I think I’ve watched just about every rally since 2016....when he was doing 3 and 4 a day. I would watch, and I kept my eyes on all of the people behind him. I saw a few sketchy ones and it just made me so nervous that something was going to happen to that man.
Don’t forget, we need him too! If America falls, we all fall. Canada’s already gone, but we’ll have a chance if President Trump gets back in.....if that criminal that’s in the WH now remains, we’re done.
Lol they’re not worth much anyway. They’re only worth the paper they’re printed on!
Take care - enjoy the rest of the convention!
In college taking a Thermodynamics Final, we all wore big paper bow ties because our professor wore a bow tie.
When he came in and saw us, he laughed and still gave us the final to do.
I was wondering when the people were going to wear bandages in support of Trump.
These are supposedly serious minded adults?
I already came up with the idea for this year’s Halloween mask. Of course I have no idea how to make them. Somebody will make a bunch of money off of them. Republicans and Democrats will buy it.
“This is the newest fashion trend. I’m getting this going. Everybody in the world is going to be wearing these pretty soon,” Neglia said.

I dunno..... let’s not forget that PDJT is the Master Marketer. He could put a MAGA red hat icon on the side of it and sell a gazillion of them.... especially internationally.
True. I don’t know if this is something President Trump is promoting, or even aware of. It just doesn’t appeal to me - I’m thinking that what happened and what could have happened to that good man are nothing to make light of.
ha!
LOL! Nicely done!
Ear bandages are lame but pussy hats were not?
I am Spartacus!
